Was told from a very strong source today.....
Being released at the dealer show at the end of July. Polaris slingshot. Its a side by side for the road. Street Legal of course. Motor will be a Chevy Cobalt motor.
Will be interesting to see. Also said that they will probably announce the new replacement of the current 900. Cant wait to see.
Just pasing this along guys.

The slingshot looks like a fun. I wonder if it will require a helmet and motorcycle license. Any word on the price of the slingshot?
I am pretty much ready to buy a new XP1K4 in July but wonder if I should hold off and wait and see what the new machines are like. I am fairly sure they won't come out with a new king of the hill but I wouldn't mind something with good performance with a lower price and a slightly smaller package.

He didn't say msrp on slingshot but I would imagine it would be close to that 1000 rzr price. Yes slingshot will require motorcycle license. Whatever laws for motor cycles are in your state will be the laws on the sling shot

Ive been wanting a jeep wrangler but everyone around here wants 20 grand for ones with 90,000 miles on them. I want something on road like this thats open air. Maybe the price wont be too bad but I wouldnt count on it. Im still not giving up on a nice used jeep.

Tbone, they hold value like crazy, that's why we got a new one in 2011. Paid just over 23 for it new. After looking at several TJs with the crappy dana 35 rear end with 100k on them for 17-20k, we just went ahead and got the new one. Payment may be almost the same as used due to interest rates, 5 yr 100k warranty, gen 4 dana 44 with 35 spline axles, and over 20 mpg...seemed like a no brainer to me.

i dont know about down your way tbone but up here with all the road salt you have to check a used wrangler out good. a lot of their frames are either rotted out or cracked or both..

there was one that was almost a decent deal I saw online. It offered a car fax report so I clicked on it. It was from up in Connecticut and that is the very reason I did not go look at it. It had to be eaten up with road salt. At this point I am thinking about just buying a new one.

I think a Jeep Wrangler would definitely be a better all around vehicle than this Slingshot.

here is the video. I really like it a lot. I may have to add one of these to my playtoy list.

What is the MSRP on these things. If I wanted something like that I would spend 5 or 6K on a Miata or a little more and get a Pontiac Sky or BMW Z3 that way you have a top and heat and A/C and can use it year round I still would rather have a lifted wrangler for a toy

Completely out of my league. BUT it sure looks like it will make a huge hit on the road for those that enjoy the street riding. Too many 16 years that have been given the keys to a car as a baby sitter for their parents that have no accountability or responsibility...MD
