| Hatfield-McCoy Leads the Way With UTVs
The Hatfield-McCoy Trails have opened all Green (easiest) and Blue (more difficult) trails to approved UTVs! This makes Hatfield-McCoy the largest UTV-friendly trail system in the country. For those who don\'t know, here are the rules and regulations for bringing your two-seater to the trail system:
1. Side-by-side vehicles shall only be operated on designated green and blue trails.
2. All manufacturer installed seat belts shall be in good working order.
3. The number of passengers carried on a side-by-side utility vehicle shall be limited by the number of manufacturer seat belts.
4. All participants must abide by all of the manufacturer\'s requirements regarding the age and size of operators and passengers.
5. No passenger who is too small to reach and hold any manufacturer installed handgrip shall be allowed on a side-by-side utility vehicle.
6. Operation of a side-by-side utility vehicle is prohibited by anyone under sixteen (16) years of age.
7. Any operator of a side-by-side utility vehicle must possess a valid driver\'s license.
8. The driver and passenger of a side-by-side utility vehicle must wear seat belts at all times.
9. The driver and passengers of a side-by-side utility vehicle shall keep their hands, arms, feet and legs inside the vehicle at all times during operation.
10. The side-by-side machines approved to be operated on the Hatfield-McCoy Trails are: · Arctic Cat Prowler · Kawasaki Mule · Kawasaki Teryx · Kubota RTV · Polaris Ranger · Polaris Razor · Suzuki QUV · Yamaha Rhino ·

| There must be a catch because they say all green and Blue but then it says
"on designated green and blue trails" :142:

| I saw that too, I am hoping it was bad wording and they just meant no black, green and blue only. | |

That just is lack of proof reading. I'm counting on riding on the black trails.

| I think the HM trails should be like Wagon Wheel and just have it to where you ride at your own risk on all the trails. | |

| The problem I see not all of the black trails are that bad but there are some black trails I would not ride even if it was allowed but that's me I don't like danger Give it time with the way Side by Sides are selling and the majority of people you ask saying their next machine will be a SXS it will open up more & more trails to SXS's IMO even if they have to do some dozer work | |

| I agree with Bobby on that, SxS's weren't allowed on the trails at all for a long time then green only then green and some blue now all green and blues. It wont be long before they let us on all the trails. | |

| I do know what you mean as far as some of the switchback you have to back up and try again to make the trun. Some you can just hang the front tire over the edge a little and make it in one try. Wife about killed me the first time I did that. She was like the front tire was clear over the edge and I was like the rear end is by far heavier and it would keep it from tipping. I was moving at a crawl when I did this. I would not call it a smart high speed idea. What do you mean Bobby you don't like danger? If your not living on the edge your taking up too much space!! | |

| If you guys ever have problems with Hatfield/McCoy trails, let me know. I went riding today with Jeff Lusk (Director) and Sgt. John Hall of the Ranger Division. There are only 2 Rangers for the whole trail system now, the rest quit.
We had an eventful day. The last 3 days were VIP rides on the Little Coal River trail. Today I got paid to ride, but, not all fun and games, at about 12:30 PM a couple of jeep riders from KY rolled a Terex (belonging to the trail system with 69 hrs on it) 3 times end over end. Although no one was injured, we had to cut the roll cage off to get it back to the trailhead. And I had to haul out the two jack asses that were on it. Within 2 years the trails will be more than 1000 miles. WOW the largest in the US.

The problem w/ this is keeping a diverse set of trails so everyone has something they love. A lot of people just like tight trails, whether they are on a UTV, ATV, or dirtbike and some like really wide trails. I think that places as large as H/M should have some trials that are not for UTVs, some that aren't for ATVs, and so on, so that all of the trails don't end up being the "same." I see nothing wrong w/ having trails that are "ATV only", and so on, so that there is a wider mix of variety, even if it does cut down on some of the miles I can ride.

| SxSs are only allowed on the green and blue trails. The black diamond and double black diamond trails are for atvs/motorcycles only and the orange are single track for motorcycles. They are working on a truck/jeep/UTV trail in Kanawha co. They are building another trail in Madison right now. | |
