Fall Ride Oct 8th-10th

Justin, a full hookup means there is sewer on the site too. The ones we have are water an electric only. The sites are very big level. Unless your tent is a huge cabin tent you shouldn't have an issue setting it up even with a camper on the site but you will not be able to park a camper/truck, tent, truck and trailer. The overflow parking site is right next to these sites so it wouldn't be far out of the way and would be very safe.

My plans have changed in that my wife & 2 teenage kids will not be making the fall ride. That leaves just me in my Winnebego that sleeps 5 adults. It has 4 bunks & a fold out couch. I'm willing to share my house on wheels as long as my guest aren't to rowdy & don't mind keeping their partying outside. Just pm me if interested. I am staying Fri. & Sat. nights

I'm at site 67 with a tent. I don't know how much room is at that site, but if there's room anyone's welcome. I can park my Taco and trailer in the overflow...wherever that is?

Everyone attending the Fall Ride please read the following:

To keep this large group ride organized and a good experience for all we must have a plan and not a bunch of chaos so here is the plan we must follow.


The ride times again are.

Friday 10:00am
Saturday 9:00am
Sunday 9:00am

We will leave on time everyday and no one will be sent around the campground looking for anyone that is not ready and lined up at the start times listed so be ready & on time as we will not let 1 or 2 people hold up 60+ Side X Sides.If a Side X Side has a mechanical problem and it can't be fixed in a quick manner the ride will continue and we will need maybe 2 people to help out the broken SXS and get it to a place where it can be recovered by a truck & trailer.We will stop for breaks and once the last SXS comes to a stop we will have 15 minutes for break.Once the 15 minutes is up you will hear an air horn and we will roll in 2 minutes from the sound of the horn.We will stop for a 30 minute lunch break on the trail so bring anything you will need to eat and drink.I would suggest save your drinking for back at camp in the evening as we won't be stopping enough for people to be pissing every 10 minutes.If you must drink do it in moderation so you won't be ruining someone Else's day or experience.Keep in mind we have people driving a long ways to ride and ride is what we will do.We need everyone to keep up with the person in front of you and we need each person to be 100% sure the person riding behind them knows which way to go at any & every fork or intersection in the trail.We need everyone to try and avoid from playing and holding up the group by that I mean don't go off into a big mud hole or start hill climbing on your own and end up being stuck and everyone has to wait for you to be pulled out etc.If we have time once we get our ride in and we are heading back to camp we can make time for playing if time allows it.I would like to see us get in a minimum of 50 miles each day so to do that it takes everyone's help by doing what I just talked about.I hope no one has a problem with this plan but I think it's fair and it will ensure that everyone gets in some good riding.If anyone has any ideas that would be better or any suggestions let's here them.


Each day everyone must be lined up at the Stop sign leaving the campground and ready to roll at 10:00am on Friday and 9:00am on Sat & Sunday and if you have been to these rides before you know we roll on time so I would suggest being lined early in case anyone has some questions and we can space the SXS with radios evenly through the pack.The plan will be to be back at camp as close to 5:00pm as possible so everyone can get their machines ready for the next days ride and clean up and eat and then socialize around the community campfire at site OF 1 .If you don't have a rear view mirror I would get one as you must never leave the person behind you at any intersection or fork on the trail.

If you need a place to stay let me know as there are other options close by and don't forget the Campground has the house in Crumpler just up the road and Skyland Rentals is close by too.

Some more if you have never ridden with me before about some of the trails we will be riding.These trails are mainly un groomed meaning some are tight for a SXS so I would suggest long sleeves or a jacket to protect your arms from briers etc.Also you need to protect your eyes with goggles or sunglasses as you never know when a limb will hit you across the face and that's enough reason for me to wear a helmet.We will just be riding the FREE unmarked trails so there is really no rules but do what you feel is best for you.Another thing be real real careful and watch for obstacles on some trails where if you would hit something with your front tire and your steering wheel gets jerked out of your hand and over the mountain you go Another thing some trails you will be riding are a little narrow for a SXS so pay close attention and never get you tires in the tall weeds on the edge of the trail as you can't tell where there is no more ground and it's straight down if a tire drops off the edge.Just ask Bush as he learned the hard way about this scenario

Thats great!!!! Now we can listen to you and pals talk about that durn old "stata" I still giggle when ever I get to thinking about the sunday spring ride when we were at the texaco. That young fellow made me spit some adult beverage out of my nose!!!!!

Doors are half way done...at least my passengers won't be muddy. Hope to start the other side this afternoon. Then comes the prep maintenance...you know, clean air filter, change the oil, grease the fittings, triple check the parts and pieces.... Man, the wife's coming this time. Does this mean I can't just "wing it" on the food...I'm in "menu" shock for the first time since I've been riding....oh man, the pressure is on. Forgot to mention to Bobby, WELL DONE again fine sir, it's again going to be another Fall Birthday ride for me on the 9th!!!! I knew you were thinking of me when you chose this weekend. No need for any additional apple pie or whatever all that other "hey Chappy just take a sip" stuff on my behalf. I'll be sticking to the stuff I know this trip
