| I ran into some chicks on Sunday out in Sanderson. She said the same thing happened to her RZR S and she had to put a motor in it. Cost her $4,100. I think they buried in underwater and blew the motor up......and yes.....they were drunk also. | |

| I have not gotten water or mud in the engine. The oil looks clean on the stick. The air box is clean. The filter is clean. Beats me. I was riding about 25mph on the black top between Ashland and the CG when it locked up. The oil stick shows oil level full and the coolant level is fine. Dealer called today and Polaris has request my maintenance records. I have them and will give them to the dealer today. W'll see. | |

| It's been 4 weeks today and the dealer is just now putting a wrench on the my RZR. They sent my maintenance records to Polaris and all looked good. They are putting a can opener on the motor looking for root cause. Depending on what they find, my service rep thinks Polaris will be putting a new motor in. I hope so, but it's still not a done deal yet. | |

| At this rate, you might have to ride with me at the fall ride!! Crummy dealers and their shoddy workmanship. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. | |

| Having talked to Dustin , the dust deal with the intakes really made polaris put a clamp on the dealers and warrenty work , before that issue they were pretty laid back about warrenty work ..... | |

| Yea, the dust is ready bad with a full windshield on. It just sucks a lot of dust from the rear back to the front. It's really bad riding in Florida with the sandy conditions. I converted my lock-n-ride windshield to a folding windshield. Only flip it up when it's raining or riding at night when it's cool. I went through 4 air filters in just over a year. Probably should have used more. The five days I rode the WW area when it locked up, there was very little dust with all the previous rains. It rained nearly every day. It was good ridin. 3012RED, I can't ride shotgun with you cause I know how you drive! | |

| Update: My RZR has been in the shop for 7 weeks. They found the root cause of the failure. A Plain bearing failed on the crankshaft. This is the bearing that the connector rod attaches to on the crankshaft. This caused the piston to hit the head every so slightly but enough to break the connector rod. The service tech said there was plenty of oil and it looked good. Polaris already has all my service records and they are happy with that. The serice rep will contact polaris Aug 2 and expects to receive approval for a motor rebuild. I requested a new motor but the rep says polars does not put in new engines. WTF? Anyway, they will be replacing everything but the bottom case and the head. Crankshaft, Oil pump, Pistons, Rings, Cylinders and all seals and bearings to list a few. Seems a new motor would be more appropiate. I may talking to polaris myself. See pictures below: | |

| It should and better be covered by the ext. warranty with a 50 buck deductible. If not I will have my attorney call them! | |

Polaris requested the maintenance records before they even looked at the machine. So , yes Polaris wanted the records to verifiy the warranty.

I did my own maintenance work. I kept the recepits showing when I bought the oil, tranny, and diffs fluids. I also kept a log in the back of my manual with dates, Odo reading, hours of service and type of service performed. I also included air filter info as well. I sent copies of the receipts and photo copy of my maintenance log. They seem to be ok with that so far. I should find out this week if Polaris will cover the engine rebuild under the warranty. We let you know. My dealer thinks they will because it was a bearing failure and there was plenty of oil present. If they don't I will talking with Polaris with an attorney.

| Update: Polaris sent their inspector this morning. Polaris has officially approved the motor rebuilt under the warranty. They would not go for the short block though. As it turns out I got a zero deductable warranty. So, my cost will be zero. The dealer ordered all the parts today. With a little luck I may have my machine back by Sept 1. I hope so. I need time to break the motor in before the Oct ride. Hot dog!!! | |
