| Hello, I'm a potential new RZR purchaser in the near future and need some advice. I'm leaning toward getting the 2011 RZR S LE model and was wondering if any of you that have the wider machine have ran into many instances where the extra 10.5" of width is a problem. I really prefer the wider machine for the stability and also to get the big horns and FOX shocks is a plus. Thanks. | |

| I would get the S. The benefits of it are awesome and it is very rare for the extra width to be an issue.
I have a stock RZR and have found myself adding all of the things an S has to get to that level. I would stick with an S if it was me!
Good Luck and Early Congrats!!! |

| GO FOR THE RZR S. THE EXTRA WIDTH WILL NOT INTERFER WITH MOST OF YOUR RIDING. I HAD A 2009 RZR LE & BY THE TIME I WAS DONE ADDING WHEEL SPACERS & EXTRA WIDE TIRES, I WAS 58" WIDE. THIS IS MY 2 CENTS WORTH | |

I think one is to snorkel your air box and add another filter. That is what jdub was talking about and the other may be extra splash protection/mud guards to keep you cleaner | |

| no need to snorkel just grease the lip of the factory filter and put an outerwear over it. i would not run a KNN filter or any other filter other than stock. i have seen may aftermarket filters make a rzr miss and not run right and then put a stock filter back in and it run great. http://www.outerwearsracing.com/proddetail.asp?prod=559772 |

| one of them is also to fix the air hose on the vents that melt. Takes 5 minutes to fix on the 11's. Snorkel was the other one. |

| K&N filter in place of a stock filter will not make your machine miss and run crappy unless you have other issues. I have 2000 miles of riding on my 2008 rzr with a K&N filter. And after looking at the results of riding with K&N filter with snorkel intake inside cab area compared to stock rzr without snorkel, i will never go back. The difference is immediately noticed just by looking into the airbox after a long weekend of riding. I have experimented with both scenarios and never experienced missing in engine due to a K&N air filter. Usually any missing of the engine with a K&N filter is a result of too much oil in the filter and some residual running through the intake. That is even rare itself. One of the main reasons for dust ingestion on older model rzrs is the lack of a lip on the actual intake where the piping attatches to it which is before you even get to the airbox. There were many cases of that connection not being tight to begin with from the factory. A lip around the end of the intake inlet would have greatly reduced the chances of that happening. Then another problem with that same connection was the lack of flexibility between the piping and the engine itself making the connection work itself loose over time, and just enough to let some dirt by. And last but not least....where the airbox is located on the rzrs is about the dumbest place in the world for an airbox to be unless you can guarantee yourself that your lid and connections to the airbox are actually waterproof. The airbox is just too low when you decide to submarine your ride, for those of you who do. Another issue with that lid though it hasn't happened a whole lot on the early rzr is the fact that there were only 2 clips holding the lid tight to the airbox. Even though dust should not be able to get by your filter inside the box, water most definitely can because of the height the box is off the ground, which isn't much, when going deep in the water. Rocks have been know to fly up off the tires and knock the lid loose if you have one with only 2 clips holding the lid in place. The third clip that was added after 08 greatly reduced that from happening. | |
