| Signed up for the forum to learn about WV riding. Being from Chicago I wouldn't get out to you guys too often so when I go I wanted to make sure I don't waste time.
I have a Polaris RZR and my son and I were planning on riding Hatfield McCoy on March 28th and 29th. I have read a little about the trails and they all seem pretty good with each offering a little something different. We are planning on staying at Ashland and riding Pinnacle and maybe Indian Ridge but I don't know if it will be too easy or too difficult. Maybe some of you can give me some guidance. Is the "green" trails too easy? Like riding down a road? I like trail riding but nothing too difficult. Not a big fan of rocks either.
And if anyone is planning on riding on the 28th (Monday) my son and I wouldn't mind a tour guide.
Thanks. -dave | |

| Welcome to the site, you are going to miss our Spring ride by 1 week, its too bad. There is no doubt that you will love the area, its worth the drive! Easy vs diffucult is not an easy one to answer as everyone has different definitions of those. If you stay on the HM trails you will be fine, I consider all the green and blue trails to be beginner friendly and actually a lot of the black ones as well. If you get bored on the HM trails there are MANY outlaw trails (thats where most of us ride) You can get on the HM trails and have a map and have no issues at all! Enjoy your trip and ask any questions you have. There is a wealth of info on this site and everyone is friendly | |

| We rode Friday and Saturday at Wagon Wheel, Indian Ridge and up to Pinnacle Creek into Mullens. The Mullens connector is closed but there are other ways to get there. The Connector from IR to PC is a nice smooth trail that is a pretty tame ride. We did cut up several trees at PC trail 20 that had fallen over the trail recently. We rode several local trails too and found a lot of mud and not much dust. At Indian Ridge we rode the green trails toward Northfork until the first blue trail and then stayed on blue for most of the way.If you go into Northfork turn left on the road and head down to 52 then turn right and get you a demon burger. Good stuff!! | |
