| I got 3500 on my stock belt. I really didn't have to change it but I wanted to change it before it got to old. Now I use it as a spare. | |

| I have ran same belt for several thousands of miles and have never broke one.My RZR has about 7,600 miles on it and It may be on it's 3rd belt but most of the time the belt looked fine I just had it changed and kept the old one for a spare. | |

| My old RZR LE has around 3000 miles on the stock belt & still going. My RZR S has around 2500 miles & still going. Keep in mind, when you get stuck --don't burn the belt up. If you get the belt wet --- let it dry.Use Low Range when rock crawling or pulling or Etc. Just | |

| I put a new belt on mine at 1100 miles. Went kaput at 2000, Taking Thunter's advice and running in low under 20 mph. He also says if you're starting in high, nail it and then back off. Makes sense if you're running slow to go to low for the added cooling of the induced belt air flow. We'll see. | |

Thunter says a dealer told him that gunning it gets the belt up in the sheave with less wear than slipping it up to speed slowly. I'll try it (along with using low gear a lot more) to get a belt life comparison. Because I like to ride fast I tended to stab the throttle a lot. I'm becoming more aware of being smoother in forward gears. A good thing to think about regardless of how fast you ride.

I'm becoming more aware of being smoother in forward gears. A good thing to think about regardless of how fast you ride. I was told that years ago on a Polaris Sportsman 500HO. The gunning it part was just when your taking off on a incline, starting in deep mud or something that would put extra stress on the belt. It helps engage it quicker and keeps the belt cooler. Running slow for extended periods in high range is real hard on the belt!! It worked on the old Sportsman and on the RZR as well. I mainly changed my belt at 3500 miles just so I would have a spare.

| My dealer, which I have never had a problem with, personal friends with many of them... Have told me as Thunter said, anything under 20mph, use low gear... that is what I use 95% of the time, only have 600 miles and have had no problems, but I do have a spare belt just in case. About the Dayco belt, many aftermarket clutch kits come with the Original Polaris belt, that may be a clue. I think the key is riding in the right gear. I checked my milage to hrs and average 8.6mph, maybe that is why I stay in low and slow... lol
P.S. mine is a 2011 also and have had it 2 months

| i stay i high most of the time but if its water crossings, mud or tight/rocky terrain i switch to low. i went to the epi belt and clutch kit when i switched to 14" rims and the larger bighorns. only have 250 on the rzr now and most likely 230 with the epi kit. | |

| The only time luckily I have shredded a belt was after being in low gear and going a little to fast down a hill. My brakes were weak and my thought was b/c of lack of a good engine braking system this would help to slow it down. So big OE on my part. I now carry a spare belt under the front hood with a bag of tools just for a belt change. With the correct tools it doesn't take long to change on the trail...if you have the belt with you. My belt had about 1000 miles on it when it shredded. | |
