| I sold my BIG BLOCK 8.1 Gas Sucking Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab I had it 34 months and sold it for $1600.00 more than I paid for it I sold it this past Saturday and bought Dylan a Nissan Altima so I'm driving that until I find another truck.I'm just going to go with a 1500 with a 5.3 motor I believe so I can get decent mileage as a daily driver if it needs to be and it will pull my trailer & RZR just fine. It don't look like I'm going to get a Toy Hauler any time in the near future so I could not see keeping the 2500HD with the 8.1 motor and sucking gas as a daily driver it was just costing to much | |

| I'm pretty lucky. i have a Wrangler for a daily driver, not that it gets great mileage and work is only a 30 mile round trip. the truck is mainly used for pulling the trailer and sits about 90% of the time. at 9.6 mpg down to WV its about $200.00 a trip. that plus the hotel cost is what prompted me to do the ac in the trailer. i have the generators. my plan is once a month to be down there riding with you guys---and ladies. | |

| my last truck was an 06 gmc 1/2 ton ex cab shortbed, it had 3:45 gears and I consistantly got 17.4 mpg, 5.3 and plenty of power. I hauled my slide in truck camper (pop up type) and my jeep on a 16' car trailer to PA (5 1/2 hr one way) and averaged 9.9 mpg down and back. I miss that truck! | |

| im getting around 8mpg with my truck pulling the toyhauler. the truck sets unless its pulling something. i would love a diesel but my truck is paid for and pulls the toyhauler with no trouble at all. and the upkeep and price of diesel fuel i dont think its worth it right now. but i plan to get a diesel in a few years tho. |

| Well I sold mine today and got another diesel. I'm going to miss my Dooley. It was my buddy and it was hard to sell it. I like this new diesel though. |

| Last weekend I went on the 5 Points ride with Thunter. 295 miles each way (from my house just outside of Washington DC), up and down many mountains, with the bed loaded with camping gear, firewood, etc. and hauling my Teryx on a 16 foot, relatively heavy dual axle Bri-Mar trailer. Averaged just over 13 mpg in my 2010 1 ton Ram diesel (single rear wheel, 6.7L Cummins in-line 6). It gets about 18 mpg on highway when its not loaded. 13 mpg loaded and hauling is probably nothing to write home about, but not that bad, considering. Diesel is the way to go for a strict hauler, but this truck is not my daily driver. | |

| Bobby, I hear the 1/2 ton chevys with the new 6 speed auto are getting close to 20mpg. But, they are alot of money. I used to keep an older work car for the mpg, and let a full size truck set most of the time. I ditched the money pit work cars, and got my Tacoma to drive every day. It was the best thing I ever did. It's hard on a truck to just let it set around. I get 20-21 mpg empty, and 12.5 to 15 mpg towing my rzr on my 6 1/2 x 12 trailer. It's been a great truck, and it runs very strong. If you want another Chevy, go for it. But, if make doesn't matter, don't overlook a 05+ Tacoma. | |
