| WOW - not sure where to start but I'll give it a shot, here goes....
If there comes a time when my business needs a bailout to stay alive because I ran it into the ground....those folks who think government bailouts are ok, you'll the first on the my call list. The government has no business or right to get involved with private enterprise. That my friend is called "Marxism" and is contrary to everything this country was founded on. Our founding fathers are rolling over in the graves at this point.
The TAXPAYERS did not see one red cent of the bailout. Most of it went to bailout union pension funds that were unsustainable and foreign banks. The rest of the $$ can not even be accounted for as to where it went or how it was spent. I will not even go into unions at this point.
As I see it, this is the problem with our country as the present time, no responsibility for your actions. This country was founded on the principles of risk and reward. Now, no matter how ill advised the risk the government will bailout companies...WTF?
GM still owes the TAXPAYERS over 8 billion dollars which will NEVER be paid back. The bailout for GM & Chrysler here again was to pay off union pension funds. The UAW for Chrysler was GIVEN the controlling shares, effectively making them the owners. This was done at the expense of the stock holders, who got screwed and lost their investments. Did you know that the government BLOCKED the purchased of Saturn & Hummer...The ONLY two profitable divisions of GM. This was done so Government Motors could limit competition. Saturn dealers got screwed badly. Why don't you ask a former dealership owner their thoughts on this subject.... I did....be ready for an ear full.
And to those who think if we let GM & Chrysler fails jobs would have been lost. Yes, some jobs would have been lost, however, if allowed to go into bankruptcy they might have come out the other side restructured in a way that actually made them profitable again. This partially would be because all union contracts would have been broken, and a few other reasons but that's for another discussion. And if they could not restructure in a way that they would have been profitable then they would have been broken up and sold off to the highest bidder. In other words, a company who had been wise in the their business strategy (successful) would have bought them and turned the company around or broke it up and sold it off. Ether way, this is the nature of business, the wise succeed and the others fail and are swallowed up by the successful.
Bottom line is without the risk of failure there is no reward except for those in control - GOVERNMENT!
Man, that was a mouthful, don't mean to pi$$ anyone off but this is not how our country is suppose to run |

| Ford Motor Companys current CEO, Alan Mulally, has been with Ford since 2006. And I must say from watching interviews with him, he seems to be one of the best to take control of a big company such as Ford. I would say he's the big reason why Ford has been so successful in recent years. The CEO of GM is a Liberal piece of garbage and you see what has happened. I would say the 2 biggest failures of GM, is their union and their leadership. GM will eventually pull out of its financial slump. But one things for sure, they have lost respect among a lot of its loyal buyers. Personally I think if it was not for their Chevy trucks and SUVS, they would have gone under along time ago. The biggest downfall to Ford trucks was those darn 6.0 liter diesels from 03 to 07 (50 million recalls). If this new 6.7 Powerstroke does not work out for them, then they might as well forget about ever making a diesel powered 3/4 and 1 ton truck. | |

| Yea I am a big Alan Mulally fan. He came to a local dealership here one day and he walked up to me and said "Thank You and I appreciate you." Thats class. He cared about chicken little ol me to say that. The man cares about the customer and about being a success. I was a 6.0 person and loved it. Never had a minutes trouble. BCFATVS is right though. If this 6.7 is no good Ford is in trouble. So far my 6.7 is awesome. No problems. I will say Chevy has two great motors.....the 5.3 and the Duramax. Both have been in production forever and have been proven to be reilable. I will never knock those motors. I love both of them. Its a shame Chevy is in so much trouble. I know the guy that "tries" to sell us GM's told us the current body is here to stay for a good while. They are still in big money trouble and they cannot afford to do a new truck body and platofrm for a while. Thats why Ford is building new stuff and great new motors. There hitting Chevy over the head with a massive bat. |

| All of Fords new motors, especially the EcoBoost V6, are kick ass. Of course the ole 5.4 was due a replacement. But its still a rock solid motor for its age. It sounds like the 6.7 powerstroke has gotton off to a pretty good start compared to what they have had in the past. All brands have their pros and cons , kind a like our SxS's, but Ford is without a doubt the head knocker among the U.S. auto makers. | |

| Toyota makes the best trucks, and that's a fact not an opinion.
I do like, and would like to own a few models of the current trucks from Dodge, Ford, and Chevy. If I were to have a new 1/2 ton, it would be a ram, tundra, or maybe a chevy. Deisel would be a ram or maybe a ford if they prove reliable.
I do agree that the bailout should have never happened. I was raised to learn from, or even be punished for the mistakes that I make. The bailout was a reward for failing if you ask me. But it happened and here we are. If we don't buy their stuff they will get rewarded again. So, I say don't let the bailout stop you from buying what you really want/like. Greed is the problem, and taxing those who make millions will only hurt the people below them. They will make their money, and just cut the pay and benefits of their workers. The only way to break their bad habbits is to let them completely fail. Nobody is worth $23million a year!
Now, Obama want's the avg american to run out and buy one of these $40k trucks. When you factor in the cost of fuel, 20" tires, and the payment, I can't justify paying that much on what I make. If I did, I would have to get rid of the toys, and towing the toys is about the only reason I like to keep a newer model truck. | |

| i agree with Hump, i'd love to have a new truck, FORD POWERSTROKE DEISEL, but at $45,000 to $50,000 new i'd have to get rid of most of my toys. My '05 Ram Hemi sits in the garage and i really only use it for towing, other than that it is pretty much a super heavey paper weight. lol. with almost 90,000 miles on it it (was my only vehecle from 05-09) still runs great. i have added a K&N filtercharger, cat back dual exhaust and a programable superchip. it does ok. | |

| When we picked up Becky's Jeep I looked at the Rams. Regular cab long bed Diesel 6 speed with air cd grey grill no power windows, just the cheapest Cummins powered truck you can buy......$42000. OUCH! It was ugly as hell with its steel wheels with black center caps and little donut spare looking tires. That's getting very close to what I make in a year, and the thought of going through that much hell for a stupid truck just makes me want to throw up. If you ever see Hump in a big bad truck it will be a early 80s Ford with a big block, very used 7.3 powerstroke, or a late 90's cummins. That way I will have beer money, and gas for the rzr. | |
