| Just put my 09 Rzr in the shop 9/10 . The universal joints at the rear of the front prop shaft are shot. Don't know why. Only 4k miles. Dealer called yesterday and confirmed that Polaris will put me in a new shaft under warranty. Oh yea! I love my warranty. Should have it back by next weekend. Went to Ocala NF this weekend and rode the Honda Rubicon for 137 miles. It was fun but it beat me to death. Will be glad to get the Rzr back. | |

| They just replaced my prop shaft, rear axles, all bushings and tie rods under warranty. I had to wait for the prop shaft for 3 weeks as it was back ordered. |

That's great. Hope I don't have to wait 3 weeks on the shaft. Was that on your RZR XP shaft?

| I need to drop my skids and check all that out before the fall ride. I don't think I've greased the yokes on the front shaft ever. | |

| I keep a check on mine....the universal joints are fine...but the yoke has a lot of play around the spline....you can't buy just the yoke...you have to replace the whole shaft... | |

Crap, front prop shaft has been back ordered. Working on 3 weeks now. I had mine replaced under the extended warranty.......I was looking at the parts........On the RZR 4 there is a part # for just the yoke. I really think this will work but have not been able to verify it.........

| Mine is wore slam out! I have a little play at the rear yoke, and the front one flops around real bad. Do you have to take the front diff loose to get the shaft out, or am I missing something? | |

| I'm pretty sure I remember someone here saying that front diff has to come out. Don't hold a gun to me but I swear I heard someone say that. Maybe hot rod will know |

| Thanks Mason, that's the only thing I could think of when I looked it over. Guess I will carry the tools needed to take it out at the fall ride just in case. That way I can keep on wheelin in 2wd.
Rayray, I have 1800 miles on it now. That shaft has never seen grease. I didn't see a zerk on the front yoke, just the rear yoke. The rear is ok, I guess I will separate it for a spare when I get a new shaft.

I was thinking about filling it with some black rtv gasket maker I seen on the shelf in the garage. It don't have any slack when you twist it, just up and down. The yoke must have some good splines right about the middle still.

| I just ordered my front yoke, $82. I will have it Tuesday. Polaris' warehouse has parts in stock as well as complete front shafts. You can get individual parts for a S. I don't know what the difference is between the S and rzr parts, but I will bring my old yoke to the fall ride if someone wants to take it home with them to compare it to the rzr one to see if it's the same thing. Bubba, you are right about not running it in that bad a shape. I wasn't thinking.....if that thing came apart at 50mph it would wipe out the floor pedals, and maybe my legs, or worse. | |

| The guys on the rzr forum say it will continue to happen if you do not get the front drive shaft balanced. That is the reason the u joint and splines wear. Mine has always been worn out took it out and you can see it is not balanced the u joints on the ends should be inline or 90 degrees apart to balance mine are at about 45 which is throwing the shaft way out of balance. I am sending it to a drive line shop to balance before putting it back in. | |
