Too heavy that's why I did not go with them. I was just wondering...being to heavy...does that make the ride rough....

| im sure it does. It makes excess wear on suspension. On cars and stuff of this caliber, lighter is always better. |

More likely to break suspension parts. What tire weight would you draw the line at...

| I think Pit Dog also runs the pit bull radials. I hear they are heavy & rob HP but they are really tough & might even hold up to your abuse Finzup | |

| Correct, the incresased rotational mass will rob power. I can't remember exactly but I believe the PBs were around ~43-44lbs for a 27". Exact reason I did not go with them. Just too heavy JMHO |

I mounted my new GBC Dirt Commanders today. It'll be interesting to compare their performance against the Big Horns. Even though they're 8 ply, from what I can find out, they're the same weight or less than the Maxxis I'm running. In fact, the 25" x 26" dia. equivalent in a Big Horn weights more. Someone mentioned the importance of "un-sprung" weight and they're correct. As an ex-road racer, I know more un-sprung weight reduces vehicle stability (on any chassis design) at speed on an even surface. Sometimes we sacrifice un-sprung weight for reliability and traction to make it to the end, as in tire diameter and width.

| i have ran the big horns before and got rid of them the first time i drove my buddies rzr with dirt commanders....bought a set of my own and the rest is history...you couldnt give me a set of bighorns anymore....i have over 1200 miles on them and they are holding up great...i have ran over nails and actually had them bend off in the knobby's instead of punching on into the tire...they seem to get great traction...have great side hill bite...clean out excellant... | |

| You guys got to see what the Growlers did on the ride..
Hold up great, 8 ply, radial, and they REALLY hook up...
Downside, they are heavy.. but heavy beats punctures anyday!
