| Ok I know this topic is like beating a dead horse sand I know a lot of people make their own snorkel kit but where is the best place to buy a kit without spending a fortune?? Not really wanting it so much for deep water just to help with fresh clean air... | |

| Don't know off hand the prices vary so much, those around here who have gone that route still have to modify them. It really is easy to do yourself, n not expensive. It was less than $50.00. I got everything from lowes. Get more than u need n return the rest, they don't mind. | |

I got my snorkel kit at www.atvoutfitters.net for 126.00 and love it....it uses 2" pvc and rubber boot connectors....you have to take off the bed to install it and if you follow the instructions it should take about 2 hours....again...best money I ever spent...I put a small aftermarket K&N air filter at the top of my air tube giving me a double air filter system...I check the stock paper filter every other ride and it never gets dirty....

| Bubba tell him with that snorkel inside the cab it's noisy. I snorkeled mine six times before I was satisfied. The exhaust for the belt needs to be out back. Also r u planning a back window or a bed cover. Mine come thru the engine cover for ease of maintenance. I have back windshield n EMP bed cover. I had to replace the bed after I cut it, then put cover on. Just think ahead it'll save money. | |

| I was going to try and run them up so they are flush with the top of the roof...I was also wondering if it would ne a bad idea to have the air intake facing foreword kind.d of like a ram air setup | |

I guess I done got use to the noise but it does bother some folks...once you put your helmet on and turn on your music you can hardly hear the whining noise....

No power loss if you keep it about neck or shoulder high...but if you go to the roof I highly recommend the 3" air intake tube... | |

| I have always thought you didnt need them. As much as I have rode I have never seen a use for them unless u plan to go deep swimming with your machine.....which im not. Well not on purpose! lol
I run an outerwear pre filter over my stock filter and it does just fine.
Just my two cents. |

| Unless ya have x-ray vision, it can be kinda hard to tell just how deep every hole is!!! Snorkels can sure save your machine is ya get into the wrong place and take on water. You can do it yourself for less than $50 and it works great. | |

| Oh yea, and if ya got snorkels, you should get in there and tighten up the clamps every now and then, as with the bed flex and vibration they can work themselfs loose. A couple of minutes with a screw driver or a nut driver is time well spent. And if you do snorkel, put in the big rubber coulpings on the top outside of the bed. That way if you remone the bed, you don't any trouble getting every thing back where it belongs. | |
