| RZR 800 Only hear it when I'm turning, right turns are worse, left turns not as bad. WTH? I thought it might be the brake shoe shim but that did not help it! It only has 400 miles on it! I have an audio of it but I can't figure out how to post it on here.
Any ideas? | |

| Luv nuts tight. Axles feel solid but don't know for sure how to check the cv joints. Nothing wiggles anyway. | |

| Popping noise: Adjust brake caliper that side. Check castle nut, torque to 80 foot pounds, Wheel bearing, jack it up and check for looseness. If you are able to turn the castle nut then you may have a broken hub. Check and grease ball joint, finally cv joint. See below.

| I replaced every axle in mine the first year I had it, talk to James.. AKA WV Hot Rod Rhino, he can get you an aftermarket that is 10X better than stock, I have not replaced any of the aftermarket ones and have put about 3000 miles on them,... did replace one, but didn't need to, turned out to be front diff. On the other hand, if you have a warranty, and only replacing 1, sometimes, if you have a good dealer you can get it replaced by them. All the above is guessing that it is your CV, best way to tell for sure that I know of is pull the axle, move it to other side, if sound follows it, it's the CV.. have done it so many times I can pull all 4 hubs in about 30min.. hmmmm, is that good or bad | |

| Ahh, I see that you have an 09 RZR. If you have an early made 09, like mine was, then you may have one that possibly had the mismachined front hubs that allowed the threaded part of the outer cv joint to stick out past the hub, allowing a little slop, causing it to pop and make all kinds of strange noises when turning. All you need to do is put one or two extra washers behind the castle nut. Usually one is enough. Make sure you tighten the living pee out of the nut. You need to do this for both sides if that is your problem. Of course you could have a bad cv axle too. | |

| I take that back, theres actually a special washer you have to buy from a polaris parts vendor for this issue. It actually fits behind the 2 washers and castle nut. | |

| If you have fairly low miles on your RZR and no kind of lift on it, then the likely hood of an axle being bad is very slim because the 08 to some of the 10 year models had much better factory axles than the newer ones. they were actually fairly strong for a stock axle. I had the same issue that you are having. I get most of my info off of RZRforums.net | |

| When i put the "s" suspension on my 09 base it was a brand new polaris kit.....one of my rear axles popped a little when it was brand new...i ordered a new axle thru susperatv and had it overnighted because we had a riding trip a few days later...i figured the axle was brand new i was going to run it a little and if it broke i had a spare...bout 600 miles later the sounds all stopped...2200 miles later the axle is still on the machine and i still have the spare axle... might not work for you but that is how mine worked out.. | |

| Everything is tight! Except for the brake caliber which has a little wiggle in it? I swapped the axles from left to right, it helped out a little bit but still has the popping nose in it. WTH man? | |

WTH man? Did the popping follow the axle? if so, there is the problem, if not, look at bearings if left or right, or front Dif if in the center (hope it is not that, if so, hope it has a warranty) Keep us informed, someone on here will win the prize for figuring out what it is. | |
