2 Kenwood Uhf radios for sale.

Mine got wet and died on me. May need another one. Will see, a friend is looking at it....

O that sucks. How did it get wet?

Mine got wet also!!! In a bag of rice now!! I hope this works!!

Had it bolted up under HRR,s roof and with the windshield thought it was safe. While toweing went through a heavy down pour and it got wet. Wont turn on. At least that's what I think happened. A friend is going to hose down the circuit board with a cleaning solvent and check some other stuff. If he can't revive it, then I will need another one. Incidently, I got the other radio in the mail. That was supposed to be for my buddies rzr. Mine now till I get another one. Neuromax keeps his in the over head storage bag.. Can't even tell it's there and it's protected. That's where the next one will go.

I got mine up on roof, hasnt gotten wet yet. Knock on wood.

Mine was also covered with frost Saturday morning at Ashland. I know that dosn't help. A shower cap or some thing to protect it would be advised.

Same thing I did in my Rhino.....per Neuromax's suggestion. Hasn't had a ton of trail time but seems pretty safe in my Rhino where it is mounted.....that said, it might get robbed to go in the new XP.

I keep mine in the storage bag between the seats...also when washing...even though it's still in the storage bag it's a good idea to open the storage bag and cover it with a plastic bag...then zip the storage bag up while washing...double protection.

When they get wet DON"T try to turn it on. Take covers off and let it dry real well. should be good to go.

Rick is right. As long as there is no juice on it, it won't hurt to get wet. I used to own a computer store and would take machines outside and use a water hose on the to get rid of cockroaches. Just make sure they are bone dry before plugging in.

I have mine in the overhead map bag and have had no issues even when washing.

I got one left. Sold 1 a few hours ago. Not sure I can get anymore at this price. My supplier has sold out.

As of right now I am out of these. Sold the last one today. I will be looking for more and will update if I do.

Just put my radio back together after 4 days in a bag of rice!!! WORKED GREAT!!

Finally found some more Kenwood TK840's. Should be here in a few days. So anyone wanting one just let me know. These will include the Radio and Microphone. If you want the antenna to match it will be $150 shipped. If you want radio and Mic only and have your own antenna or want to get one local they will be $125......... This will be programmed to the standard FRS/GMRS frequencies used in family talk radios. These are the same as the others I have sold. 25watt with a frequency range in the 450-476mhz range.... Or close to it..... LOL

What kind of range are you getting out of these radios? I have been looking on ebay for one, preferably a high output/45 watt unit. Is there much difference between the 25 watt vs the 45 watt in range?

Considering the highest output handheld is 5 watt the 25 works pretty doggone awesome. I was talking to Kevin (Getrdun) probably 10 miles away. Now he did have the 45 watt unit but he wasn't having any trouble hearing me. I've yet to outrun my 25w and have been able to hear other WVSXS guys using similar 25w many miles away. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

It all depends on terrain and elevation. Line of site on flat ground I would guess range at 5-8 miles. I have talked to the small hand held radios over 2 miles. I know the areas we ride I have never been able to not reach anyone in the group. These radios make for a much more enjoyable ride. It's nice to be able to stop everyone if something happens or someone needs to stop. Also been known to taunt each other a bit too...... LOL

Last Sunday I went to the top of the Stair Steps and started calling Hot Rod Rhino. He answered. He was at the top of Jug Hollow Rd. So I looked this up in Bing maps and it was 5 miles as the crow flies. My radio is 45 watt and his is 25. Didn't seem to be much different. I know you can talk from Ashland to the top of the Stair Steps.

Last month when I got Tiger Rag, he was at the Stair Steps and we were well below Crumpler.

Ok, so maybe not as far as I thought. I thought y'all were on the other side of Hilltop between there and Bramwell....course we were messing around past the top of the steps over by Farrells cabins where I started talking to you I must have misunderstood....but I could hear you clear as a bell. Still a few miles and not yards. They are very impressive! This is my second one. I bought one for my Rhino and left it in before selling. I bought the same exact thing when KYmedic got more of them for the RZR.
