| Anyone tried the new Maxxis viper tires yet? Got a set for the commander but haven't got to try them out yet! Nice deep lugs!

| I like the look of this tire. It seems to me like it will ride like the bighorn but have a little more of a directional pattern to corner better. I like that it was designed for SxS so it should be tough (like a bighorn) and looks like it has a decent bead protector. | |

| I got a good look at them last weekend on Commandrew's machine. They have a deeper tread than the pics you see of them. They do clean out very well with the directional tread. Very nice looking tire. Every time I would slide sideways with my bighorns, I would look in the mirror and see Andrew track much more straight than me. Only thing I seen that they didn't do as well as Bighorns was traction on hard slick surfaces like wet rocks and downed tree limbs. I'm guessing the difference between the two comes down to the pitch of the tread. | |

| Like hump said they do real well in the loose stuff. Not so well on the hard pack. Im going to try dropping my air pressure a bit and see how that's works | |

Ok, I was just wondering. Air pressure is a tricky thing. You don't want to knock one off the bead, but you don't want the ride to be too rough. Some air pressue can pinch the side wall and cut one down, etc. I'm guessing you go down at least to 10 and be safe with those tires. Maybe even 8, but then you start worrying about unseating a bead. Keep us posted on how your tires hold up and traction, etc. | |
