| I'm wanting to get rid of my stock seat belts and go with harnesses. Do I Really need a 5 point harness, or is a 4 point good enough? I'm not wanting to break the bank on them either. I've looked pretty hard at the Super ATV 4 point but I don't really like the mounting point for the shoulder straps. I really liked Finzup's 5 point Simpson harness, but they're $125.00 a piece. Any suggestions? | |

| I recently ordered 4-point Simpson harnesses (2 inch shoulder padding) and what actually came were 5 point. Last weekend I installed 4 of the 5 points and took a ride - fast - down at the farm. Even with only 4 of the 5 points installed I felt really secure and welded to the machine - I could actually drive faster because I wasn't bouncing around in the seat. Since I have them, I'm going to install the 5th point as long as I can find a decent mounting point on the floor of the Teryx. The 5th point would be nice to have in a bad rollover but probably just an annoyance at all other times. This may not help you much given that you've already said that you like the Simpsons, but not the price. Guess I'm just saying that there's a reason people like Simpsons. I would now recommend them. | |

| I think i've narrowed it down to a Simpson or Crow harness. After reading up on all the harrnesses I wont be getting the Super ATV harness. I guess when the mounting point for the shoulders are more than 5 degrees below your shoulders, you can get a spinal compression injury, even if you hit something head on. The Super ATV harnesses mount below you waist. | |

I don't like to buy things and be dissatisfied, so I research first. My first Popo ATV I purchased, I twisted the salesmans arm for 9 months. Maybe i'm a little obsessive. I will try to post that info on the proper harness mounting angles.

http://www.sidebysidesports.com/si5poraha.html So far this is the best i've found, for what i'm looking for. I only wanted a 2" with a latch. The cam lock design is quite a bit more. I have found a better price but not when they start charging you for extras like shoulder pads and such.

| The crotch belt anchor is a very easy install but requires a minimal amount of fabrication. As I've previously stated, the crotch belt lets you really get sucked down in your restraints and makes you more comfortable in trying the hard stuff without wiggling around in the seat. I'll show you how to install it or do it for you, if you drop by the house. | |

http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/Harness_install/ Link does not work I don't know why it didn't, I think this one works. It's a really indepth article. In one part it states if you hit something head on, at 30 miles an hour, thats 30 G's of force on your body. So if you weigh 200 pounds thats 6000 pounds of force. http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/Harness_install/

| Just wanted to give a little info on the website (sidebysidesports.com) I purchased my harnesses from. I purchased them on Friday June 17. However they did not mail them until Wednesday June 22. I was not a very happy customer, so when I contacted them about it they said it's normal to take 1 to 4 days to mail something. I said mine took 5 full days and how hard is it to stick something in a box and mail it. I also said, I bet you guys didn't wait 5 days to run my credit card did you. They had no answer except an apology, which wasn't really good enough for me. I will not purchase anything from them again, and just wanted to share the info. My harnesses have made it to Illinios, and are expected on Friday July 1. Oh goodie 2 weeks later!!! | |

That sucks but you better get used to it, because it's always something with these machines. If it isn't broke you'll be buying some kind of new accessory. My next $$$ are gonna be wheel spacers, doors, hid lights and a + 5 kit. Always something

| Lol. You got that right buddy. I thought my harleys were expensive. Geeeez. Well i got a new tire and rim ordered, I figure the side walls on the tire are most likely weakened from driving 5-6 miles without any air and the bead not even sealed. The rim is pretty ugly, no paint left around the lip of the rim. Lol. Gawd I am an idiot. I must a thought I was punder, lack of common sence and a heavy right foot, get expensive. Lol. Not that punder is an idiot------lol. Anyways, I'm hopping I can make bergoo. | |
