| I'll beg to differ w/ TBONE and BUBBA. I have an FMF header, SuperTRapp muffler and PCMIII. That combination (with my DDP clutch kit) makes a difference. If I get too close TBONE will brake early and Earnhart me. | |

| For 2008 to 2010 models you can run most slip on exhausts and some full systems without the use of a fuel controller because the efi on those years was tuned on the rich side. I've had a Two brothers and a Big Gun EVO slip on, on my RZR. To be honest, it ran better without the use of my fuel controller, which is a Two brothers "Juice Box". Both pipes are loud and annoying after a few hours of riding, however, putting the spark arrestor and quiet tip(s) on gets it back down to stock sound levels. I paid about $220 for the Big Gun off of Ebay, which really is not that bad for a new good name brand exhaust. The Two Brothers was $320 and quite frankley, I will never buy one of those again as the bolts and fastners kept coming out. Exhaust Systems are cool, but they are overrated, overpriced and what performance you get out of it only comes out on topend. I still say light weight pistons, a good head polishing and a good clutch kit is the best performance gain for the money. You can do all of that for the price of a dual exhaust system ($650 - $1000) | |

Carolina polaris prices have always been at or below the competition....I don't know what happened in your case.....

| I'm new to the rzr world.I grew up on bikes and quads. From experience of working on them most horsepower gains are seen in big bore kits and stroker cranks. The last quad I built was a 400ex honda. I put in 440 kit with a stroker crank.Ported the heads, and put in stronger valve springs. Then a higher lift, longer duration cam. After these mods the carb couldn't get enough fuel in this engine.I had to go with an edelbrock carb kit. After that, it had twice the power of stock.Of course that was seat of the pants dyno though. I hope someday to do some of these mods to my xp...but thats alot of money and double the price for a twin cylinder. | |

| Anyone who gets after the hotrod rhino will find out real quick what mods to make. The exhaust would be a help once you got the engine mods done, but exhaust ain't what makes that thing a beast. But, I don't think there is a whole lot you can do to the 800 without causing problems. I think big bore kit, and port work is about it. Maybe a slightly larger cam.
I think everybody wants to see James build a hot rod rzr.

| There is all kinds of things you can do to a 800 motor , You just have to ask yourself do you really need to get there a few seconds faster , just how much more torque do you really need cause both cost a lot of money .... Personally I would sell and get a 900 if the 800 was not bad enough ... Suspension in the end wins the race .....Tanking what you have and using a lot more of it .... | |

| I would agree on the suspension mods before engine work. It does not matter how much power you have, if you can not get (and keep it) to the ground it's wasted power. | |
