| According to Yamaha's research 66% of the SxS sold are used for farming and hunters. That's why they targeted them with this machine. Hopefully they won't forget about the other 34%. | |

| The farmers and hunters have tons of machines to choose from. There are 3 sport machines and you can really count all the non sport ones modified to be sporty in that market too.
I also don't think they realized how many people would dump polaris if yamaha or honda came out with something with similar performance. Polaris and can am build fun but they don't have the reputation for quality and reliability like honda and yamaha.
I wonder how much of a sales bounce arctic cat, can am, and polaris get on their sport sxs's this week from people who were holding out for the new yamaha.
Someone on another forum commented they should have just named it the "big blue" to compete with hondas big red.

| This would be a great machine is it's catogory, way better than a ranger, mule, bigred,or gator. I've heard that another sxs will be coming next month, as well as another atv.
It pisses me off that they done away with the rhino which was a sport/ute, and replaced it with this way to wide thing. If this is what they think people want, they should have just added it to the line-up, not killed the rhino.
We need a rhino replacement with low seat height like the viking, slightly narrower body than the rhino with the same 56" track width. Longer travel suspension, nothing crazy, 10" would be fine, and throw in a bigger engine.

| There is no doubt that Yamaha could build a serious competitor. It is just too bad that lawsuits and people who can not take responsibility for their own actions when they have an accident, stifle their innovation. I have heard they still have 30 pending lawsuits for the Rhino.
Think about how many other good products we could have if it were not for Ambulance Chasers.

| I'm sure it will be a good machine but I think they could have came up with a better name.Heck if they are not going to make a Rhino anymore they should have just called it the new Rhino | |

| - And that's probly the reason for releasing this Rhino replacement now, to let everyone know that this is a new beginning. I want to see what else they have to offer, but a year between releases will cost them. Hopefully they'll have something completely new out soon. Clevelandrzr wrote:

| They are obviously targeting the Polaris Ranger and Honda Big Red. I read somewhere recently that 66% of UTV sales comes from the utility section. Hard to believe with as many RZRs you see on the trails. | |

| I think it will be a great machine for what it is, and compared to the ranger and bigred. More performance than the bigred, and less maintenance than ranger. Seems like a nice machine, but not a replacement for the rhino. I just don't like the width of the body and cage. | |

| - Agreed. Yamaha wants to bury the Rhino name after the lawsuits. This machine is very utilitarian by design. I know many of us were expecting something more performance designed. That has to be the next release and they should do it this year, not next. wrote:
