| Can't remember who it was that had the trouble with their Rzr going into limp mode on Saturdays ride but I told them I would post this and maybe someone else will find it useful. The problem started in 2013 when Polaris started putting a vane switch on the gas pedal to put it limp mode incase the throttle stuck. Theres a huge thread on Rzr forums that covers this and it has a lot of good info in it if you want to take time to read it(I'll put a link to it). What you need is a AC Delco connecter part# PT786 I got mine off ebay for around $15 bucks but it seems they've went up since then. The second thing you will need is one 6.8 ohm resistor or two 3.3 ohm resistors. I got the 3.3 at radio shack but couldn't find the 6.8. The first one I made had the two 3.3's soldered end to end then soldered to the connector (this is the one in pic). Since then someone on rzr forums sent me a 6.8 so I changed it to that. When you get the connector it will have 2 wires coming off of it, you will need to take them off and solder the resistor to the connector and put it back together. When your rzr goes into limp mode just unplug the vane switch that's on the gas pedal(just follow the wires from the pedal up the fire wall) and plug the "fix" in and your ready to go. Now sometimes you can just unplug the switch and plug it back in or tap the switch it's self and it will be fixed but sometimes that doesn't work.

| I think I might have a couple of the 6.8 resistors if anyone wants one. | |

| FYI, Several 2013-15 RZR 800/900 and one brand new 2014/5? Ranger 800 went into limp mode during a very wet ride last week on the WV Outlaw trails. Every one of them had the radiator clogged with mud/clay from the very wet conditions. At first not one of them realized what was happening with their machines since it was raining out or excessively wet . Once while we were stopped cleaning radiators with super soaker squirt guns others pulled up and also said they were overheating & wanted to use the guns. If your machine goes into limp mode be sure to check for overheating, you would think that would be obvious but I guess it isn't. | |
