| Hey guys I finally got me a rzr, it's a 08 model with 160 hours on it but the engine is clattering just off of idle, but for$3500i think I can repair it and have a great machine. What kind of big bore kit would you guys suggest? Haven't torn it down just yet but I'm hoping the rod bearings are good so I don't have to split the case on it. Has a warn winch, front ands rear bumper, roof and half windshield. Was it a good deal? | |

| The motor in my 08 got water logged and broke the crank. I had high compression pistons, after market cams put in. And had bigger valved put in. I had it dyno tuned then.Ialready had Looney Tune dual exhaust and a controller. When on black top it will pull the left front tire off the ground on take off! And it sounds pretty durn good. It ran me right at 4,000 smackers. | |

| Any cheap suggestions on the big bore kits? Will I need a programmer for it to run properly if I go with the 820cc big bore kit from trinity? | |

Terms "cheap and big bore" probably shouldn't be used in the same sentence. 08's are famous for top end repair due to a poor(since redesigned) filter-to-throttle body boot. If your cylinder is junk, go big if you want. It's not that much more expensive( but there'll be no overbore allowance for future wear). Resulting performance improvement won't be that significant without other mod.s$$$$$$$. A cheaper alternative that you will find very worthwhile might be - go up on compression since you'll be buying pistons. Ditch the stock/"Model T" exhaust in favor the 'S' setup(or better yet - the BMP design). 08's are tuned rich from the factory so install a tuner(programmer). Get a clutch kit. You'll love it! Plus these mod.s are a great base to build onto with cam, head work and intake improvements. | |
