Here is a pic of the 50 inch wildcat due out 4 quarter of 2014. Sounds like it will be out some time towards this time next year. Pretty good pic. You can tell its smaller than the regular cats.

Yea I seen the video on it a while back but I have read that Arctic Cats 4 quarter is in February and it would be out in March so we will see.If it rides better than the RZR S I had I would buy one.

Oh ok. I had no idea when their 4th q is. Time will tell. Hope ride is not sacrificed. Either way I think it will do alot better than the 50 inch rzr's. Polaris may need to go back to the drawing board.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but why on earth does anyone want a 50" machine? I just don't understand that. I always get thru any road I want to travel on in my cat. Sometimes its real tight but I go thru or over ,up or down to get by, but I hardly ever see a place that tight. I would be flipping or turning over something 50" wide all the time where I prefer to ride. I see a lot more narly places that are so steep or so sideways a goat would by pass it by choice when he can , than I do places I am to wide.

Well It would not be 50" wide after I add after market wheels and tires and most trails are wide enough for the 64" machines but I ride some tight trails that I could go much faster if I had a narrower machine like I had when I owned a 50" RZR.I'm not into extreme riding like climbing steep off camber stuff or rock crawling I would rather be able to run faster in the tight trails.Different strokes for different folks I only bought the Wildcat because of the suspension travel and ride quality so if the 50" gives me a ride quality between the S & my current Wildcat I would be ok with that to have a maybe 54" machine with aftermarket wheels & tires.

Some trail systems have a 50" restriction , just not any that I can think of that we ride around here .

I bought a 50" machine for two reasons. 1. it was inexpensive, and having never even ridden in an utv, I didn't want to spend a lot of money and possibly hate it. 2. I have a 60" wide trailer :)
All I have heard of the 50" wide cat is that it's smaller and has a 700cc engine.

Those replys makes some sense out of it. I guess it is true different strokes for different folks.

After having the rhino 450 with aftermarket wheels and 10" wide front tires and the rzr s, I am a whole lot faster on most of the trails I run in my Rhino sport with factory wheels. 56" wide doesn't sound much narrower than 60.5", but let me tell you I fly through tight places at 25-30 mph that I used to have to crawl at 3 mph in the wider machines. My style of riding is like Bobby's, I'm not much into rock crawling in my sxs, that's what I have my Toyota for. No where near enough ground clearance on any sxs to do the trails I do in my truck, so I figure why even bother.
At slow speeds, my rhino rides rougher than my rzr s did, but when I'm running hard, I can't see a whole lot of diference.
After owning a rzr s and 2 rhinos, I've figured out what I like and don't like for my type of riding. I will give up some sidehill and long sweeping turn stability for quick responsive handling, and speed through the tight woods. I also prefer the engine be closer to the center of the machine, not over the rear wheels. I like oversteer as I can deal with that. Understeer scares the hell out of me really bad, and the rzr s had a ton of it. It would not turn at all until you hit the brakes, and/or mash the gas. I like how the rear of the rhino is just a little loose, and it always turns quickly at the turn of the steering wheel.
Speaking of the rzr. If I were to build one tomarrow, it would be the 50" with the XP900 engine swapped in. And, all the bushings and balljoints would be replaced by heim joints so I could ride the damb thing instead of work on it every 200 miles.
The 50" cat would be awsome for our trails. Really nice if it somehow ends up with a 80" wheelbase, and 10-12" of travel.

60.5 " still fits in the back of my truck. Just wish I could get the 900 or 1000 in 60.5" as at times it was really nice to take just the truck.

I still ask myself why I bought a 60" wide trailer. Most utv's with upgrade tires are 60-65 wide.
