| Just thought I would pass this along to everyone.
I had to go get a generator Friday at the Honda place in Asheboro. While I was there he knew I ride and wanted to know what I was riding now. I told him I had a can am but would love to see a honda model that will compete in that arena or at least be a good riding sport model.
The owner there told me the area rep and southeast rep for honda told him that a honda sport side by side will be rolling out in april. It may not have the power the can am has but it will be a serious competitor in the arena of sport side by sides. The reps told him that they have been sitting back too long and its to the point now that Honda has to do something so something is definitely coming up. I told my dealer dude that if thats true then that will be awesome. People won't worry about power too much if its a honda reliable sport side by side.
I hope all this is true and we will finally see a honda pure sport side by side with long travel. Time will tell. Lets hope.

| That would be awesome if they do! UTV Underground said a few months back that Honda was going to be getting into the sxs market full force. Seen something the other day that the new Pioneer is selling really good for them. | |

| Give me 14+ inches of travel and 70+ horsepower and it will do well. make it in a 4 seat that isn't a mile long and I will likely consider buying one. | |

| 1st thing they need to do is shitcan that Civic 3 speed auto with sluggish torque converter for a real cvt. Then come out with an affordable, good handling, resonably priced sxs like the rhino was. Something priced right and desireable so it sells and gets very strong aftermarket support like the rhino has. If they can nail that, then maybe come out with a high performance model to stomp that new rzr that costs as much as a new Jeep. | |

| Honda has been my 1st choice for years, but they have fell behind in the SXS market. If they would come out with a true sport SXS, I'm in. Glad to hear all of this chatter again though. | |

| I have five Honda's in my garage they all have been great machines , the jet skis are proberly the best of the bunch ,with that said I think most Canam buyers are old Honda customers that are still buying quality and reliable products in the SXS field , Honda has there work cut out for them to even come close to the quality that Canam has to offer ,and if they could I doubt very few would pay the price for SxS that was built by Honda .it never happened with the Jetski's that Honda built that's why they quit building them in 2009 , I have 05 models with over 400 hrs each with no problems at all, but BRP SEADOOS completely run Them out of business in price only , and that's my two cents worth but I luv my Canam Maverick good luck Honda in the SXS business !!! | |

| I'll be first in line. All it needs is 50 hp and 12" of suspension and I'm game. I even am Ok with a tranny like the Rincon. My Rincon was a great ATV that would go anywhere and cost almost nothing to ride but gas.
the positive is I don't have to buy it myself. My wife said if Honda comes out with a decent SxS she will write the check.

They have fallen way behind in the ATV market too.

| UPDATE on this topic.
I was at the honda dealership today dropping off my generator for service. While I was there they had some of the pioneers in the showroom.
They had one 500 and it was yellow. They told me every one that comes in sells. They cannot keep them in stock. The 700 pioneer does well too but that 500 is selling good. I told him I would love a honda but they don't compete in the high horsepower class. He said that at the dealers meeting that all the dealers have been promised a new sport side by side to go after polaris. My eyeballs about opted out when he said that honda wants to go after polaris. I told him they are going to have to get a lot more power and more sport to get there. He assured me that there is something coming soon to roll out to compete with the rzr's.
He did say they will be going after the 1000 class but I personally don't buy it. I could be wrong but honda forever has always been very cautious to enter a segment. I think they will do a 800cc or maybe even a 900 MAYBE but I feel no 1000. Time will tell.
Either way he said honda told them all that they have been on the sidelines too long and missing out of a lot of money for the sxs 1000 class and ALL DEALERS WILL HAVE A NEW SPORT SOON. Honda specifically did say they are after Polaris.
If they do something then that will be awesome. Cant wait to see it but ill believe it when I see it. Just passing this info along. |

| Honda can't even build a sporty 4x4 atv and they have been making atvs for decades. They just don't do sport other than their dirt bikes and street bikes and their 450 atv.
I do think that if they make a sport sxs they will aim for the 900s not the 1000. There is no horsepower war to fight and more money to be made in the 60 inch medium horsepower class.

| This is some good information and as already mentioned, remains to be seen. I have always been a Honda person and hope they do build a low riding sport model in anything over 500 cc. I ditto the comment about the gas mileage. Mine was a Rubicon and I would ride the WV trails and tote gas that I never even came close to using. I can't complain about about the Honda service, I never had to do anything major or minor to the 2007 Rubicon with over 2500 miles of hard riding. My next sxs just might be a Honda, if they make an affordable rock-solid model...MD | |
