| I do not have a android phone. I just started the motion x on my I phone. I am wondering if any one has used this in wv, and if possible to put the info on my phone. I cannot get Bob t maps. So looking for something similar. | |

| Why do you say you cannot get the BobT maps? The BobT maps can be loaded into MotionX, but you will hit a problem. MotionX has a limitation of waypoints/tracks so upon import you may receive an error (I did) and not all tracks will appear. I have both the apple and android platform so I switched over to android Backcountry Navigator which removes this limitation. You may be able to load Bobs tracks into Base Camp and then export only what is relevant to you into a gpx file for loading into MotionX. | |

| bigwahoo, said it correctly. When you install my map it will also install the original tracks in Garmin's .gdb format. They will be installed in the directory you choose so keep an eye and write it down so you know where they are. You can open them open in either of Garmin's free programs, Mapsource or Basecamp and save them as .gpx. The .gpx file will be about 6 times bigger that is why I don't include it. Motion-X has a limit of 300 tracks so you will have to select the 300 you want and save them as a new file and then import that file into Motion-X. They will not come in with any color so you will have to colorize them yourself, which will be a pain.
The million dollar question is whether Motion-X converts them to some sort of database that you can share or make a copy of. Otherwise you will have to delete those files in order to put more on. Ken, who I went to TP with is trying to figure that out now. | |

Ken, who I went to TP with is trying to figure that out now. This may be a half-million dollar answer. It worked for me in a small test- Backup link Backup your waypoints and tracks using the iTunes Drag & Drop feature in MotionX-GPS. Here’s how:

To backup your waypoints and tracks with iTunes, select Menu>Setup>iTunes Drag & Drop.
Turn Drag & Drop on. This will prepare your waypoints and tracks for export by creating GPX files.
Connect your iPhone with your sync cable to iTunes.
From iTunes, select your iPhone, then select the Apps tab and scroll down to the File Sharing section.
Select MotionX-GPS, then from the MotionX-GPS Documents window, select the gpx files you’d like to backup.
Select ‘Save to’, then specify where you want your files to be saved.
If you ever need to restore the GPX files to your iPhone, simply drag the GPX files into the MotionX-GPS Documents window in iTunes while your iPhone is connected.
| |
