NEW WINCH

I just received my new Pro Mark 3000lb. winch from Pro Marks web site for 89 bux. That's a good deal. Did a lot of investigating before I bought a Pro Mark, they seem to have good reviews. I know Warn is the way to go but I don't have JIMBOBS money and my POPO doesn't get stuck that often, and it doesn't flip on its side every ride like Finzup does   I will be plowing snow more than anything so I will keep you all posted on how it does.

       I would charge his ass a fee to tow him out of all those puddles he keeps playing in.

I have had best service with superwinch
get a plow strap for use with a plow
it will save your rope from wearing

better get a bigass winch for JIMBOB!

Superwinch here as well. I have the Terra 4500. Solid as hell.

Columbus took a chance against the norm and look what he found.  The ProMark winch will probably do well for you.  I do believe that is what came on mine.

There are many good winches out there and Timmi I agree that the some Warn are not what they used to be...MD

I believe the main thing to make a winch last is to make sure you don't overheat it on a hard pull. Don't get in a hurry. Pull a few feet if it's a hard pull, and stop for a minute and have a beer, then go a little more. They say it is much easier on a winch if you run almost all the cable out when you use it because it changes the ratio a bit, making it easier on the winch to do the work. I've seen all brands take a dump. Never had a Warn, but seen a new one that worked every now and then on a friend's Prairie one time. He was always pissed when it wouldn't work. I think he sent it back twice for work.

I've had two Superwinches, and two Vipers. The Viper I'm running now looks like crap, but has only failed me twice. Both times, a little tap on the contact box and all was good. It's the same one I had on my 08 Rhino, so it's 6 yrs old now and still doing great.

I think with the cheaper winches, it's mainly the switches and contacts that they build a little cheaper than the high end stuff. All of that stuff prob. comes from China now reguardless of the brand.
