| I have the silver wheels that come on the 800s. After 2000 miles of rough riding they look terrible. I cannot bring myself to buy new wheels knowing I'm going to put them through hell. So I'm asking if anyone paints there wheels. I'm thinking of painting them black. Like a textured black. Any info? | |

| Can you powder coat them? I wonder how that holds up. | |

| New wheels are not to bad on price. Just don't want to pay and destroy them. All the mud and rut riding has mine looking terrible. I thought about putting a primer on them and spray them with roll bar paint from wall mart. Or even some spray on bed liner. | |

| I used a lot kit I think it'sade by upol called raptor liner one truck bumper it gets very hard it might hold up i dunno tho. My cousin had it on his truck bed and when he dented the wheel well it broke part of it off it got so hard. It stuff so well that it pulled the factory paint off the bed and left a primer spot | |

| The textured paint like the rustoleum or dupli-color spray liner holds up very well, but will stain and hold dirt due to the texture. It's almost impossible to get my roll cage really clean. I wouldn't want my wheels like that. I think your best bet is to sand them down, lay down some primer, and just spray them with some good rattle can black or whatever. Rustoleum professional (or maybe it's industrial) from Walmart seems to hold up very well. I would do that. Worst thing would be you have to redo it every two years or so. | |

| I haven't used it, but Plastic coat may work and then clear it four or five times. A lot of people use it on street wheels and it seems to hold up. Easy to touch up and when you want to change colors you just peel it off.
Check it out on You-tube.....just throwing this out there as another idea to the other good ones.

| I had mine powder coated and they looked fabulous for one ride. Bead area gets abraided. My coater says he'll touch them up when I'm ready. | |

Oh yeah. Machined aluminum wheels that are really beat up turn out good after that stuff. When I was in high school I bought a set of used wheels that were scratched and the clear was peeling. Got that acid stuff from NAPA and then put 4 coats of clear on them. They looked like brand new.

| Plasti-Dip works great. Nice texture finish. If you do scratch it you can wipe the damaged area with lacquer-thinner and touch it up. | |
