| Years ago I had XM radio and loved it but just let it expire. I am now thinking about getting another one. Anyone have any insight to XM vs Sirius? I know they are the same company now but they still have different subscriptions.
Also I drive 3 different cars, can I get one receiver and put a dock in each car so all I have to do is grab the receiver and go?

| We have both XM and Sirius in my family. I do not really prefer one over the other. I like Sirius music stations a little better but it has too much talk in the morning. My favorite XM music station has no talk. I mainly listen to News channels so both are equal.
Multiple cars are an issue since you have to wire each car for an antenna and 12vdc power supply (can use cig lighter). I once had an XM2Go and really liked it since it basically recorded the channel you were listening to. I could basically carry it around and listen without the antenna for a limited time since it was playing recorded music or news or whatever I had recorded.
If you want to use the same receiver in three vehicles just buy the receiver you like and three antenna's. Just power it off the cig lighter and move it from car to car just by plugging in the antenna and cig lighter plug. Too much work moving antenna's but they are low $$.
Antenna's are cheap on ebay:

SOME of the receivers can pick up both but you have to pay even more to get both.

| I have a Serious Stratus that I got for $9.99 (with a car kit) with my subscription and it can be moved from car to car....just have to buy a car kit for each car. I also have a boom box that it fits that was $99, I use it at work, just bring the radio out of my truck inside and plug it up. Also you will get a better deal if you call instead of using the web page. Serious picks up better in our area then XM because of the flight path of the satelites. | |
