Fall Ride Oct 8th-10th

Everyone attending the Fall Ride please read the following:

To keep this large group ride organized and a good experience for all we must have a plan and not a bunch of chaos so here is the plan we must follow.


The ride times again are.

Friday 10:00am
Saturday 9:00am
Sunday 9:00am

We will leave on time everyday and no one will be sent around the campground looking for anyone that is not ready and lined up at the start times listed so be ready & on time as we will not let 1 or 2 people hold up 70+ Side X Sides.If a Side X Side has a mechanical problem and it can't be fixed in a quick manner the ride will continue and we will have 2 people to help out the broken SXS and get it to a place where it can be recovered by a truck & trailer.We will stop for breaks and once the last SXS comes to a stop we will have 15 minutes for break.Once the 15 minutes is up you will hear an air horn and we will roll in 2 minutes from the sound of the horn.We will stop for a 30 minute lunch break on the trail so bring anything you will need to eat and drink.I would suggest save your drinking for back at camp in the evening as you will have all evening to do your drinking and we won't be stopping enough for people to be pissing every 10 minutes...lol If you must drink do it in moderation so you won't be ruining someone Else's day or experience.Keep in mind we have people driving a long ways to ride and ride is what we will do.We need everyone to keep up with the person in front of you and we need each person to be 100% sure the person riding behind them knows which way to go at any & every fork or intersection in the trail.We need everyone to try and avoid from playing and holding up the group by that I mean don't go off into a big mud hole or start hill climbing on your own and end up being stuck etc and holding up the group.If we have time once we get our ride in and we are heading back to camp we can make time for playing if time allows it.I would like to see us get in a minimum of 50 miles each day so to do that it takes everyone's help by doing what I just talked about.I hope no one has a problem with this plan but I think it's fair and it will ensure that everyone gets in some good riding.If anyone has any ideas that would be better or any suggestions let's hear them.


Each day everyone must be lined up at the Stop sign leaving the campground and ready to roll at 10:00am on Friday and 9:00am on Sat & Sunday and if you have been to these rides before you know we roll on time so I would suggest being lined early in case anyone has some questions and we can space the SXS with radios evenly through the pack.The plan will be to be back at camp as close to 5:00pm as possible so everyone can get their machines ready for the next days ride and clean up and eat and then socialize around the community campfire at site O.F 1 .If you don't have a rear view mirror I would get one as you must never leave the person behind you at any intersection or fork on the trail.

Yea I think most people will enjoy it I sure do and even more since I found some other trails in the area that I like.I guess the first time I went was back in 2003 when myself & Big G and his crew went with Wes that had the Kays Outpost but he took us so many different ways and we rode too much road so I never cared about going back until I went with Clay when I did that video and we rode a bunch of road too.I knew away that was hardly any road but had to cut through Mine property and was doing that a few times but they have security and frown on that so I stopped by and asked them if I could get permission to bring a large group through there 2 times a year and they said no.Looks like we will have to ride some hard top now but it's worth it in my opinion

That's it but I explored the area and found some good trails in the woods to make a nice loop and a different way back once we come out at the end on the hardtop.

oh man that will be an awesome ride! Cant wait to see the new trail you found!

No need to worry about DUST the forcast shows rain starting on Sunday and raining everyday through Friday with it being nice on Saturday

Does that mean I need windows on the RZR4 now? :) If anyone in my rig complains, I'll throw them in a creek. Full windshield, doors, rear panel and roof....well, I take that back. My wife can complain, but I'll just do what I do all the time when that happens and tune my brain to another station. It's an amazing talent that she knows I have.

I use some rain x on the windshield sometimes. It seems to help with the water and the mud. It won't keep us any drier but it sure helps me see better.

Jeff you need to buy some clear shower curtains and cut them down for side windows to keep the creepy crawlies and the rain out

Will do dang that's 85 the list keeps growing Everyone do me a favor if someone is coming that you know and does not log in and read the ride guidelines please print it for them or explain what to expect and how we need everyone on the same page to have a good ride with little hassle.

We weren't lost, I knew exactly where we were........on the other side of 10 and we needed to go West!

The Barkers Creek trail was unpassable for a SXS a little over a year ago. Me and my bud Coop and 3 other spent 2 days cutting tree's and limbs making it possible for my Ranger to get through!

The last time I saw Barkers Creek impassable was last March. Must have been 35mph water flow 24" deep. We ended up bypassing it on the way to the Beckley Tunnels. Great trails over there. Had a Bud turn his Grizzly over down a 20+ feet creek drop-off last time (early August) . He was worried about thorns and should have been worried about the drop-off. Didn't hurt the Griz but took 1.5 hrs to retrieve it. That was fun!
