Please tell me you took your nuvi 500 on your trip to Ashland this past weekend and saved us some trails....looks like you all did some good riding.

I don't know bout this garmin nuvi 500 anymore bubba.I think i'm bout done with this thing.My Garmin won't even power up anymore.It doesn't come on with the vehicle power cable, it doesn't come on in the house while plugged up with the A.C. adaptor, and last week the only way it would power up was through the USB port while hooked up to computer! This week it won't even do that!!!!Just DEAD! The only thing i can think of is that my battery may not be any good from leaving it in the unit without using for too long.The manual does say not to do that.I am going to go ahead and try a new battery for 31.00 freakin bucks ,but if that don't take care of it.......I may see if i can make this thing skip across a pond somewhere.WVHOTRODRHINO's Garmin isn't acting right either.We were both trying to get his to download the wagon wheel tracks from the ride you guys went on last weekend and for some strange reason his will not do it,and we followed the exact same procedure that i used back when mine was working properly (which wasn't long) And this whole deal about erasing tracks and giving bogus directions on the highway is not a good trait of a good GPS in my opinion.Have you had any troubles with yours yet as far as navigating or downloading tracks?

He tried it.

Did he try to take the power away from it?? My garmin will lock up sometimes, I just unplug it and remove the battery for a couple of minutes, put the battery back in and plug it in and that gets it back to good.

We've boxed it up and will be mailing it back. Gonna get another e-trex I guess, it lasted 6 years and we never got lost with it.
