| What exactly are the outlaw trails. Are they a set of specific trails or is that a generic term for any free trails scattered about? | |

There are more trails than I think they could ever take over and manage in my opinion. When myself and many on here first starting riding the Wagon Wheel area about 10 years ago you never heard of the H/M trails and then they came in and did the system in Pineville & then Ashland & the newest one soon to be near Bramwell. These 3 systems alone will be all connected with 250 miles of trails but I was riding these trails 8 or 9 years ago without any rules or marked trails.I will still know more trails in this area that are free and not part of H/M than H/M will have in their system in this part of West Va.All I'm saying is there is so many trails that are not part of the H/M system that I don't think anyone person can ride them all and remember them all.I'm sure over time H/M will keep taking more & more but I can't see them ever getting them all.

| My uncle/family lives near the WW (Herndon Heights), he was out riding two weeks ago on the "outlaw tails" they were stopped beside the road when a H/M ranger stopped and was threatening them for not having a sticker, it was a county road.........the State Police was called and the State guys promptly told the H/M ranger he don't own all the trails and roads in Wyoming Co.......but like Bobby said there are so many back roads and trails off back roads...they could never keep up with maintenance or enforcement ...... | |

| I think that the letter of the law says that to ride on public roads you need to have a HM permit and abide by all state laws, which includes a helmet and following the speed limit. I think most instances are overlooked because the economy is bolstered by the ATV and SXS riders so much.
But there's always a Barney Fife out there looking to load up his single bullet!

As far as I know the State laws never mentions HM trail system...but on the other points you made I totally agree.......you should be able to ride on any unmarked county/public road as long as you obey all laws ex. working lights, obey speed limit (or less than 25-35mph or something like that) etc. or any marked road up to 10 miles on the shoulder if possible......Also any neighborhood city/town can amend the law to suit their needs......

| There is no mention of needing a H/m permit to ride on public roads. H/M only exists in the southern part of the state. | |
