Here is an xp rolling with an aftermarket cage. It goes to the back like the old rzr s. It keeps rolling.

It looks like those rails on the back will in fact keep it moving. I like the front he built into the cage

I almost did the same thing Sunday. When it stood up, I let off the brakes real quick and had a fast ride backwards off the climb.
I quit while I was ahead. Oh, it can be done, just not with me driving it.

It's almost like the cage is designed to keep rolling so damage wi be minimal and you can keep going back up

Defo a pucker moment, exactly why I'm building my cage up. Mason had one of those moments last wekend also

If that hill would have been any steeper...he would still be rolling....

Well that's the deal on that. Cage like that will roll with minimal damage. A regular cage will stop but more than likely have some high damage. I would rather not roll like a ball. That would be scary rolling a bunch. Let that bar across the back stop the machine so bodily injury won't be too bad

Sorry, has to disagree. That cage is much safer than a standard cage. I would rather roll and know I'm protected. On a well desinged cage and if you are straped correctly 90% off the time the outcome will be a good one. If the cage dispates the impact by folding or skewing....ah....not good.
Keep in mind, I come from a drag racing background where safety in our number one concern. At the speed we run a crash is relentless and coll cage safety is top priority.

I agree rzr Joe put me in a safe cage and roll me off anything but a weak cage that smashes down on your head what's the point

Hey rzr Joe if you start building clamp on baja bars for the back of an xp I'd be really interested

Oh I am sure structurally it is safer. No doubt about that. As from racing myself and a national champion I know a thing or two.
When you start rolling it would be a top priority to stop. I would hate to have something that will aid in keeping it rolling. Instead of keeping the back bars rounded maybe give it a cornered rear bar to hopefully deter it from picking up speed down the hill.
I will agree aftermarket is stronger which would be safer. Instead of rounded though maybe form one that would not aid in rolling.

Here is a video that always scares me in these machines. It's a long roll. I would have an aftermarket cage but not one rounded in the back.
We would build one to deter the roll and not one that will aid in the roll. I am sure everyone does not want a long ride or an accident. Always try to be safe as possible for us and minimize exposure to driver. Unfortunately we can do all we can to minimize an accident but physics will win.
