| Nice write up. I am looking at tires for my XP, I will check these out, I am also considering the Ripsaws, How do these compare to the Rips? | |

| I like the looks of that tread design. Lots of void area, as well as alot of edges and sipeing to get traction. Please keep us posted as the miles rack up. | |

what does it mean when you wrote" they had almost no flash from the molding process"?
Flashing is small pieces of rubber left over from the molding process (like where the 2 halves of the mold meet) that is cleaned off during the manufacturing process.

Looks like the Ripsaws are a 6-ply rated tire, so they wouldn't be quite as stiff or puncture proof, but they look great and they are a low cost alternative.

Maybe 20-25 miles on the hardtop. We rode back from Welch on the road Friday night, and then a few more on Saturday.

Reviews are purely a hobby for me. I may try to get some of them published at some point down the road.

thanks. RHarrah is correct Jetdriverx. Some of the cheaper knock-off tires will have excess flash down the center line of the tire and sometimes on the edge of the bead. It is simply extra rubber that squirts out of the gaps in the mold during the manufacturing process. Some manufacturers don't even bother to remove it. It is a tell-tell sign of the quality of the tire and how well it will balance out and run true.

| Hey Bubba,
The dirt commanders seem like good tires but they are bias construction. I would definately stay with a radial construction tire. If you like gbc tires then the grim reaper would be my choice. If you are open, then go with the new bounty hunter in my review, but definately stay with an 8-ply rated radial.
