| Ok well Ive done my research ladies and gentlemen and the rzr is actually way more comfortable for me then the commander and honestly the commander seems like its a little more to upkeep as far as maintance and cost, I do love the utility side of it though. I'm just more comfortable in a rzr, and I do love Polaris. Now the real question is do a get the rzr S or xp 900. I live in Texas so I know the type of trails may be different as far as width and terrain but is the xp too wide???? I love the height of it but I know I can lift the s for $200 and it would be the same height practically. Price is also a factor as well they told me $16500 pre tax for the xp and $14000 pre tax for the s. does this sound accurate and fair. Oh by the way the S is equipped with the fox shocks. | |

| Another thing to consider is parts availability and the price for parts. Can Am parts are freakin outrageously priced and are a whole lot harder to find online than Polaris. I know this cause I have both brands. Yeah I would say Can Am is a little bit better refined bike than a Polaris, but not by leaps and bounds. I think Can Am does have the best engine package in the business period. Them Rotax Vtwins are not only freakin powerful, they are very reliable if cared for. But with this comes a price tag. I think Can Am is a little too overpriced for what your getting, and to be honest they should be more reliable than they are. Yeah Polaris does have a reputation for having little stupid maintenance issues, but at least parts availability and price is not such a issue with them. I give credit to Polaris, they do make a wide variety atvs/utvs that will fit just about anybodys salary range. Where is the Can Ams are for someone who likes to dig deep into their pockets. | |

| I agree, I really like the can am, can't really say anything bad about them really. I can say that I couldn't disagree more with people who say it had more leg room. I'm 6'2 300lbs and my dad is same weight and 6'0 and we sat in the rzr together pretty comfortably, but the can am has more side room though. Honestly with the rzr kinda bare it gets me excited to think of all the mods I can do to it which I enjoy as to where the can am is more of a buy it and your done kinda thing. I still don't know if I should get the rzr S or xp | |

| If your gonna ride by yourself, get a RZR. If you gonna have a passenger with you, get a Commander. As far deciding on an S or XP. About 99.9% of the RZR and RZR s owners on this website wish they had an XP. If your into modifications and accessories, then the RZR is the one to get. | |

I think if you did a poll of choice between the RZR, RZR-S, RZR-XP, and Commander you would blow out the poll with RZR-S votes... for the riders in the WV area for the trails that we ride here.....

| Get the XP. Once you spend 14k what's another 2k?.....$25/month? There is no comparison on the power between the two, and a few issues have been addressed, like the airbox and front lower control arm bushing setup. There will be places you have to squeeze through when compared to a 50' rzr, but if a S makes it through you will be fine. The xp sure could use power steering, as it is a bear to steer compared to the S. If you like power, don't buy a S and then drive a XP because you will be sick.
If the price really matters, and the power doesn't, you will be very happy with a S.
I would not trade my s in on a xp. But, if mine was older and worn slam out, and I was going to buy a new machine anyway, I would go all out and get the xp.

| I now have an XP & have to say, it is nothing but fun. I loved my RZR S until I rode an XP. The RZR S is a good machine & I have not issues with it. The XP does steer heavy.
The Commander is also a good machine. It really is more of a Utility /Sport in my opinion. It does have plenty of poer as well.
It boils down to what do you want to do & which one do you like the best.

| Good thread because these are both machines I'm considering as well. I personally hate to give up utility but the majority of my riding will be on the trails in WV. I may have to sell the Rhino, the Grizzly and the Foreman to have the cash to drop on one of these so I may have give utility even more of a nod. The Foreman does full time hunt camp duty and I would hate to give it up and I might not get a whole lot for it although it is dead reliable. Love the Grizzly but probably won't ride it much anymore...it has mostly sat for pretty much 2 or 3 years now anyway.
I've looked at both closely at the dealership however never really ridden in either. Love the look, feel and layout of the Commander but heard folks I trust rave about the XP, one who was not a Polaris guy.....he is now though, although he bought an S since it had been out long enough to have most of the bugs worked out of it and now has the Fox shocks.....well, and the $3000 or more difference.
Can Am showing any flaws other than it doesn't handle as well as the RZR?

Tbone, did they really have an over heating issue or is it like my RZR o-heat issue, if you get enough mud on the radiator is doesnt matter whose emblem is on the machine.

| Same thing like you had. The fix was to add the shrouds and that solved it. Mine came with shrouds and has never overheated. I have seen commanders overheat though. When they get the shrouds the problem is solved.
On the RZR like yours it seems the new more open grill os letting stuff in. Thats what is causing it. I would put a thin piece of alum inside the grill but closing the air space up to where the 09's were. Thats what i think would fix it for the RZR's |

I agree, Elmo. RZR-S (with the good shocks) is the most fun/$ ride out there for this area. If you want to rub bumpers, add a clutch kit and a fuel tune. You'll be right there with either the Commander or the XP. IMHO, of course.
