| Just realize that some GPS's (like many Garmin's) will go into sync mode if plugged into a normal USB connector. They will not operate and charge unless they have a special USB connector.
I hardwired in my garmin to one of these:

| I think a 12 volt source will burn the Garmins. Needs to be cut back. Just in case somebody forgets. | |

| Would this be better than a plain old 12volt lighter plug outlet??? I always put di-electric grease into my outlet and then just plug it in. It has always worked for me. | |
