winch

Any suggestions on a good sealed sythetic rope winch for a 2012 rzr s. Mounting it in the stock location

Don't know what "sealed" means but I like my Viper synthetic.

X2 on the Viper. Almost every winch I've seen used while submerged died a few weeks later. That's why I mount them high. I don't know about the most expensive models warn has to offer, maybe some of them are more sealed than others.

VIPER!!!!! Anybody that watched me ride knows that my winch spends a lot of time in the mud and water. And my Viper Elite has never let me down. And there customer service is out of this world.

I got the 4000# classic viper to save money, and paid extra to add the synthetic rope. You can do that on their website.

I have the 4500 Elite. It has always pulled me out of the ruts that I get stuck in.

I have 5000lb viper. Once a year I tear it completely apart to check for water damage. None so far, just have to pay attention reassembling. One to remember for winch longevity is no continuos long pulls.

I took mine apart after 3 years of abuse, and found two lil drops of water. Cleaned it up and packed some new grease in it, and it still works great.

I like warn a lot, line speed faster, quieter but the price is crazy. The vipers that I have owned have been great. Any problems I've had I caused.

I've had my viper on some very hard pulls to the point of being able to feel the frame flexing under the seats of the rzr. Those were single line pulls, so I don't think you need anything bigger than the 4000. I think I paid $369 for my viper classic with the synthetic rope and hawse fairlead. Only compaint I have, is the wired remote is kinda cheap with the classic winch. But, maybe they have changed that by now.

3012red is right on about the customer service. I've heard stories about a bad contactor or switch, and they take care of it no problem.

Warn makes a great product, but I have seen them fail. I can't bring myself to dump $600+ on a winch. Those prices make me think about all the other cool stuff I could by with that much money.

I've got 2 Warn XT4000... Have never used either one lol... Will not even bother putting one any other machines I get. With that being said. I've had several Warn products that I did use lol... Had problems out of one of them. Warn replaced the whole winch and didn't even ask for the other one back... Great customer service!
