| I'm doing some research for my next set of tires for the rhino 450. For some reason, I have had good luck with tires in the last few years, and have not had many flats on anything. I have 26" Mudlites on it now with no plugs, so I guess I'm pretty good at taking care of tires, or very lucky. I need something that cleans out well without a lot of wheel speed like the mudlites. I like the mudlites other than the fact that they handle like crap at higher speeds. It just gets out of control on me and feels like I have no tread contact at all. I've narrowed it down to the 5 tires in the poll mainly because they seem to be the lightest compared to others. I'm looking for traction, handling, and durability last because I'm not quite the hot rodder as some of you. If you have had any of these, or been around them, let me know what you think. Keep in mind that the 450 don't have the ability to spin the tires hard like a rzr. | |

That is what I just got and they look good and if they last as long as Bighorns I will stay with this tire.I thought they were just 6 ply though.

I've been looking at these too, but I believe they are 6 ply, unless there is a new one I haven't seen yet. Just wish they were a little taller.

I really want to run them, but they are to heavy. 25x10 weighs 27.8. All the others I'm looking at weigh 26-27 for a 26". I think tire weight is real important on the 450. The Grim Reapers are the lightest radial at 26 lbs for a 26x10 and they are 8 ply. Seems kinda wierd to me. I will check out those STIs guys. Just overlooked them.

| The STIs look good and have deep tread. The reviews I've read sound like what I'm wanting, but they are getting a little on the heavy side for the 450. 28.2 lbs for a 26x10. Wish I knew if they last as long as bighorns. I really like how the bighorns go in the snow, but hate how they do in mud after 2000 miles, but that's a lot of miles to have better than half tread still.
I figured if I run Bighorns, I will go with 25s since they seem to run a little tall compared to others. They are heavy also at 27.8 for a 25x10.
Like I said, I've yet to have a flat with my Mudlites, but I could cut all 4 down tomarrow from what people say about them. For the $, I would just get another set if it wasn't for the crappy handling at higher speed, and the real bad wheel hop in snow. I can't believe I haven't lost a cv joint in the snow yet.

| I will have my Black Diamonds on my RZR at the Fall Ride so you can get a good look at them.I think the Bighorns do not clean there self out very well and pack up in mud and snow so I the Black Diamonds will clean out better for better traction and with the extended life compound they are suppose to have I would think they will last a long time.If they last anywhere close to what the Bighorns do I will stick with the Black Diamonds.I like the tread pattern and from what I read about them a couple of guys from ITP jumped ship and came to work for STI and designed & developed this tire for them. | |

From looking at the reviews and pics I'm sold on them other than the weight. The one thing that makes me second guess the Bighorns is the fact that you have to turn them pretty good to clean out...something the 450 may not do very well. Looks like a very good price on those. I guess any real good tire is going to be a little heavy. I will check out your rzr when I get there.

| I would recommend the gbc dirt commanders....they are similar to a terra cross....8ply( a lil heavy) clean out pretty easily....handle great at speed..o and one more thing u can ride them without air..lol...i went out and checked my pressure after a lil ride and only one tire showed 2pounds on digital guage the other 3 wouldnt even turn it on.....now that is some side wall strength....i know there are about 4000 miles if not more on them. 1 plug..found lots of nails bent off in the tread though.. | |
