2-2-2013 Ride Pix

It was 10 degrees when we left Matoaka close to 9:30am with 8 RZR's and one quad which was a long day for John with a 2 wheel drive sport quad Thanks to Mule822 for towing him around today.It poured the snow today which made for lot's of fun and we did have one accident.Camoeiger was ejected from his RZR and it some how landed on his back and he can chime in with more details since I did not see it.I'm just glad he was OK except for a sore back


We arrived back in Matoaka at 5:30pm and my trip showed 75 miles rode.

Great picts....I'm getting homesick

had a great day yesterday.. on the way up at 6:30 in the morning, the turbo tube blew off the truck.. it actuall broke the clamp band in two.. luckily I had clamps on the RXR for the snorkel tubes!!! And a tool kit..... so i took 2 clamps off of the RZR and fixed the truck.. back on the road in ~25 minutes... THe fix actually held all the way up and back home which was good because my ass got numb from fixing it on the mountain with all those damn trucks passing by!!!.. Got to Matoaka at ~8:30, it was 10 degrees.. Most sensible people would still be in bed or at least in a heated environment..

Everyone started pulling in and unloading, and piling on clothes,,, We left out a little after 9. Had a great ride with no misshaps other than camoeiger doing a impromptu roll cage check.. Snow coverage was great, and it snowed on us all day.. Made for a great day.. Ill take snow anyday over rain!! Got back to the showup around 5:30 and hit the road. THe roads were slick adn the snow was coming down harder after dark than it had all day.. The highway was not that bad, but it was dangerous.. The coverage was patchy all the way through Virginia with the last snow flakes being seen in Fancy Gap. Had a great time, ready for the next adventure..

He rode the rest of the day and just said his back hurt a little.I'm sure he is a little stiff today.

Im good worse has happened, just wish I had wore my seatbelt. But It's just another hard learned lesson.....

I said last year I was done riding in the cold and only wanted to ride if it was above 40 degrees but if you dress for it it's actually not bad.I enjoy the warmer months a whole lot better too but hate the dust.

Take care of that back. If you mess it up, you pretty much have to live with it for life. Hard to think of something throwing you out, but I've took a few mild hits that would have thrown me out for sure if I had not been buckled in. Snow hides alot of dangerous stuff also.

Hate we didn't run into you. I know my chainsaw got a work out!

Great riding weekend! We did 72 miles....with our chainsaw stops....slow travels over the icy stretches where I wasn't exactly sure where all the holes were.....missed one or two and got the sudden stop....lol. No harm done though. Finally ran into a tree too big for the saw I brought 18" bar. Back tracked and back to Pocahontas ATV resort. Nice place there in Bramwell. Had the place to ourselves and 30 minute shorter drive than to Ashland.

You guys must have rode H/M trails I guess.We stayed on Outlaw trails and passed 2 Commanders on Wind Mill Gap road and that was it for other riders I think and stopped at Ashland for fuel and snacks they said they were completely empty nobody was staying there on Saturday.

We were on HM some to get over to Oulaw trails. Maybe we should have stayed on HM trails.....a lot less tree cutting. Had a few tracks first couple miles from the trailhead but cut fresh tracks the rest of the day. We were headed to Welch to eat at the Sterling before getting that tree too big for my saw.
