My maverick review

I wish he would hurry up and buy it so the gas prices would go back down. My $20.00 a month gas bill has went up to $25.00 a month. That just aint right!!

I'm down to four choices....I plan to purchase in a few months. I may not reveal til fall ride though.

I went by the local Can Am dealer today to see a Maverick. It looks really good. It sure does sit up alot higher than a Commander does. The inside was exactly like a commander and sitting in it, felt just like one. Very comfortable. The rear suspension looks amazing and I really think Can Am has hit a home run with that set up.

However there is one BIG PROBLEM that I am worried about. The back of the radiator is exposed. There are no shrouds. I have never seen a side by side that didnt need shrouds and the ones that didnt have them got clogged up. I am hoping that I am wrong and clm08 is having good success but just looking it, I am very worried. My commander never overheated once and I never had any issues but I will acknowledge that the commanders did have an issue with overheating. I hope the Maverick does not have this problem but I dont see a way around it. Just looking at the radiator, it looks destined to get cloged. Lets see if BRP makes some shrouds or the aftermarket kicks in with some.

I also noticed the radiator being exposed, it has a lot bigger grill opening than the commander. Funny you mention the commander over heating, right after we took the pics his started over heating due to mud in the radiator. I'll keep track on it and which for mud build up after a few rides. I don't hit mud holes though, I dodge all I can. Mud isn't my thing lol

That is a small issue that can be fixed. Just look at what JBS done for the rhino, shields and no more muddy radiator. I avoid mud holes too, but the muddy trails where there are no holes are the worst because you are moving faster and the tires are throwing mud. Winter/spring when it thaws is the worst.

I wouldn't ride hard on wet days without my shields for anything.

I have shields for the 570/rzr/rzr s. 39.95 shipped or 29.95 picked up at a ride. All powder coated now. Black-red-silver-orange.

There is a recall on the clutch bolts. Just take it to a local dealer, and they will torque the bolts as to BRP specs. It only took them about 2 hours for the repair. Love my Maverick XRS!!

Be wise before you buyI I shelled out over $20,000 cash for this unit a 2013 Can Am Maverick took it out for two rides and Bam!! 30min into the second ride the clutch explodes, leaving me stranded thanks Can Am. Coming from a Honda Yamaha man, this was the first Canadian / American unit I ever bought as in first Can Am ever. I can say without hesitation I will never buy a Can Am again. Apparently there clutch bolts are flying off and you don’t know when they will or if they will, makes me feel confident NOT, So good luck all of you if I could I would take mine back and return it in a New York minute

They are quite a few people breaking the clutch bolts that go through the primary, I'm not really to concerned about it right now since can am is fixing everything under warranty no questions asked. I don't think anyone has broke a clutch bolt with the new updated bolt and slippery washers installed. Time will tell how this plays out.
