Hey now watchout! Them stars are important. Dodge and all the other pickup truck brands have gotten alot better especially dodge. They have done alot of work and it shows. Their numbers are way up. I like that 1500 diesel ram they are making now. That sounds like it would be awesome.

Back to back truck of the year . That says it all. Friend of mine claims 22-23 MPD in real world highway.

I really like those trucks.  I want one, but can't stand the thought of making payments.  The old Dakota is a little bit of a dog on a hill towing, but it does what I need it to do and is in great shape.

that sounds right. my Tundra gets 21-22 hiway unloaded and they are about same weight/hp as the Dodge

If that truck has the Hemi, 4wd, and the 3.92 tow package it will never break out of the teens.  My 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 with Hemi and 3.92's averaged 12.3mpg over 92k miles.  Incredibly dependable and towed excellent but loved gas...

I airbagged the rear of that truck and towed 14k up Fancy Gap with no issue.  It thought it was a 2500...


If you purchased a 2wd with 3.21 gears it will top 20 mpg on highway.  I meet several friends from Tx in Alabama to play golf.  They drive out on a 2012 with hemi and 2wd with 3.21 (or something like that)gears.  I've seen them get 21mpg...

Oh -- ignore the fuel lieometer.  My Dodge would regularly say 14.5mpg on the digital readout but really get less than 13.

It does have the hemi and it is geared with 3.55s. The gas should be in the upper teens which is what the Jeep was getting with the lift and tires I had on it. Gas will be pretty even but I will gain big time on towing and comfort.

Even with the 3.55 gears that Hemi will tow whatever you have the nerve to put behind it.  The limitation is axle load limit and that would take a crazy amount to actually fail.

That's kind of what I was thinking when I got it. I was not really in the market for a truck but really liked it when I saw it and the price was right. A liked my Jeep but was always limited with what I could tow because of the 3500 tow capacity which was even lower because of the tires I was running. I couldn't even really look at an enclosed trailer with the Jeep. Now, I can do whatever.....
