| Ok , the ranger headlights really leave alot to be desired , and have seen the good and bad on running them but what is the big difference in price on Ebay on these lights ? I found this set shipped for about $50 , waterproof ETC ... So what tells you between the good and the bad ? Cheap set http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Polaris-Ranger-HID-Kit-Plug-and-Play-ALL-Color-880-9006_W0QQitemZ180423151262QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2a020ece9e Little more Expensive http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BTS-POLARIS-RZR-RANGER-HID-REPLACEMENT-LIGHT-BULB-KIT_W0QQitemZ170400290429QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_ATV_Parts_Accessories?hash=item27aca6167d External , little more Expensive http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PAIR-4-HID-OFF-ROAD-LIGHT-YAMAHA-RHINO-POLARIS-RANGER_W0QQitemZ260490466670QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_ATV_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3ca671156e Over the top http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/POLARIS-RANGER-BAJA-DESIGNS-4-FUEGO-1-pair-2-hids_W0QQitemZ370232025935QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_ATV_Parts_Accessories?hash=item56338c634f So , educate me , what is a good brand name , what is the color I want , Will I be the biggest looser , I need to know !!!!! | |

| the third link is the same lights I have on the Rhino and you know I like them. The other kits I don't know anything about those but be careful of a deal that seems too good to be true.
The thing I like about the external is you always have a backup (axillary) light source if anything happens with your stock lights.

| Not knowing my ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to these lights, one of the basic difference that I see is that the first 2 are conversion kits & the second 2 are complete light assemblies. I think you need to consider these in 2 sperate groups. One group for the conversions & the second for the last 2 complete units.
In either group I see;
The first kit gives you specifications about the kit. I like to see this when I shop.
The second is selling to RZR owners. But does not include a lot of the specifications like the first set.

| I installed my HID plug and play kit today on the RZR so that I have better lights in WV next weekend. I shot a few pics of my install. Some guys are mounting the kits right up to the frame, under the wheel wells, but since I don't use the "under the hood" compartment, I put it all in there to at least have easy access in case there are any issues on the trail (DR knows what I'm talking about...remember the Rhino in the winter LOL). I got the ones off of ebay from Burke Motor Sports. They have a good reputation on prcforum.com and the customer service has been outstanding during the auction...and it shipping to my door from CA in two days. Very nice. This is what I got... | |

| Yeah, no splicing or anything. Plug and play, all weatherproof connectors. Just pop the OEM bulbs out and plug this stuff in... Chappy | |

| Drew, have you done anything on these yet? For the price of the first one's ($20) I believe I'd try them. You could replace them several times before approaching the price of some of the other ones. Just be very careful with you installation and seal all wiring connections well with marine connectors (if splicing) and heat shrink or liquid electrical tape. Also make sure to use dielectric grease on all connectors and mount your wiring high and in protected areas whenever possible. One advantage of an external set is to get them up and out of the heavy mud blocking path so they don't get obscured. I've noticed that my stock location HID replacements get obscured by mud, ice, snow, etc easier than the PIAA's up on the roll bar. After a days worth of riding, the stock location lights, even though they are brighter, don't function as well as the PIAA's without me getting out to wipe the lenses clean. | |

| Definitely all valid points! My feedback after last weekend's ride was that the lights were much brighter...no question. Had to keep the lenses clean. I did get some moisture in the lenses and I'm working with Jim to get new bulbs sent. I'm just hoping that I can clean the lenses out. Jim is sending new bulbs no questions asked and hasn't seen moisture get in before...despite my multiple checks along the way to make sure they were installed correctly... | |

| I really like these HIDs!! I got the same set Chappy installed and can tell a big difference in them and the stock lights. They are truly plug and play! Now if I could only avoid those big mud holes I would be all set!!! | |

Now if I could only avoid those big mud holes I would be all set!!! Can you tell me where you got your kit? My brother has been wanting a set for his Ranger. At the time, they didn't have a plug and play kit for his old Ranger, but he has one of the new ones like yours now. Any help on sourcing them is appreciated.

| Here's another option (35W/5000 color). They're plug and play. No long term experience, but start-up surge requires a bigger fuse. I thought they were worth the try especially with the stated guarantee. Nice and bright.
