| If you were going to get a windshield for your machine today, which one would it be? I know it's a tired question, but it seems like there are more options now than ever. I have it narrowed down to the following:
EMP Flip Up - pro is versatility in function, only con seems to be less flexibility in adding accessories that attach to the front pillars of the roll cage. I already have my GPS and GoPro mounted to the front driver's A-pillar and want to add a couple of lights as the days keep getting shorter.
EMP Full Hard Coat - pro is the quick detach in the summer and it looks like it would be easier to mount the roll cage accessories.
Hot Rod Rhino windshield looks good too.
Any others that you'd go with that I'm not mentioning?
Thanks for any input. | |

| I bought a half windshield and plan ride it all year round. I rode the 4 wheeler all year round with no windshield and survived many years. I also have ridden in several machines with full windshields front and rear, and didn't really care for all the fogging etc. BUT, the half windshield I bought is of the thinner material. When I replace it, it will be the thicker material and will probably get James to get me one 12-14" high with the flip-up top. The one I bought was 3/16's I believe and should have paid more attention and will next time and get the more durable. A day may come when the rear and front windshields will be a priority. IMHO, right now I enjoy not being closed up...MD | |

| Thanks for the input MD. I literally had icicles in my beard last winter from ATV riding. Started sleeting / snowing half way through the day. Don't wanna do that again! lol | |

| kmccauley, I guess I just don't ride in areas like a lot of you and my comment was based on the areas I ride and try to ride in. In your case, you are exactly right to seek all protection you can find. Me not being exposed to that kind of weather unless I travel northward some. And usually check the weather before planning a ride, gives me the opportunity to either go or not go. I will tip my hat to you brother, for your determination to ride in that kind of weather. I did mention that day may come, but just hadn't yet. Thanks for the additional qualifying information and I stand friendly corrected...MD | |

| No correction intended MD - if the half works for you, roll with it! You have a point about wiping fog & there's always having to clean it / wipe it on the trail when it gets dirty. You know how WV is... they can be calling for nice weather in the morning but by evening you end up with who knows what.
To be honest, you know what has me looking at the full options instead of a half? My wife as well as my sister ride with me some, and if they're not happy & comfy, well, they probably won't ride next time!

| The last two full windshields I have used were automotive safety glass.I like the real glass so you don't have to worry about scratching it.Just depends on how much you want to spend too. | |

| glass is by far the best if they didn't have the huge frame around them. still worth it if you can get used to the looks of them | |

| I have a full EMP hard coat because it came with the machine. If buying now I would go with either a 1/2 or a flip up. I ride a lot in the winter and the full fogs up so bad on the inside it is dangerous. Constantly have to wipe off the inside. | |

| I have the Polaris tilt out windshield on my RZR S. It will tilt out about 6" or you can raise it all the way up. I definitely don't have any regrets with this window. I would get the rear window also because with a full windshield you will get a lot of dust in the cab without it. | |

| I've had both and use a half all year. If it's too cold for a half then it's too cold for me. I have a new 3/16" scratch resistant Kolpin 1/2 that doesn't fit my custom cage. Send it to you for $90 plus USPS shipping. | |

That makes good sense if it's to cold for a half it maybe to cold to ride

| One of my things is the bandana. I got in the habit of wearing a bandana all year round also. In the colder mornings and late afternoons I double up to two. Keeps the dust and bugs out also. The black webbing for the rear section is something I also am interested in. I guess I will be looking for one of them soon...MD | |

| Glass has lots of advantages, but I do like that you can notch / modify the poly hard coated ones pretty easily if necessary for other accessories. BobT - do the anti-fog cleaners and spray products that are out there not help any with the fogging? Thanks for all of the input, I'm gonna go with the EMP flip up and rear hard coated panel. These would have been nice on our recent ride in Bergoo when the downpour came. The roof worked well; we fared better than the ATV we were with, but the water just dumped in our lap on that ride . | |
