| Well i'm sure you guys remember when i was looking for that gear shift cable before the charity ride 3 weeks or so ago. I'm just now getting around to putting the new cable on. Before i get into my own methods of solving this problem of getting the old cable off, i thought i would ask you guys who may have already installed one just What in the hell it takes to get the old one off at the rear on the transmission. I haven't had much luck so far and the manual doesn't appear to say anything about it. It's an 08. The problem i am seeing is where the shift cable linkage is mounted in the cable bracket on the side of the transmission. I had just assumed that the old cable would just slide out of the slot on the metal bracket where the 2 adjusting nuts are located. But apparently that's not the case. Does anyone know of any special procedure for removing the shift cable from the rear bracket. With where i'm located right now I'm limited on lighting and tools. If anyone can chime in on this it would be greatly appreciated. | |
