What is the width of the back of the roll cage on the rhino at the top and bottom? Also how high from the bottom to the top of the back of the cage?

I am looking for a rear rollup window for my Ranger 400 and they want $90.00 but bass pro has one for $39.99 for the rhino. If it is close I would just go with it.

I have a Ranger 400, which is the midsize ranger. It is only 52" wide at the top. It is close to a rhino in size.

If Polaris would mage the rollcage like the rzrs and put a 800cc motor in the chassis, it would be the perfect compramise between the rhino and rzr.

I like the Prowler, I almost bought one. It was a leftover 08 in April 2010, but they still wouldn't come donw very much.

Ditto
polaris needs to put the 800 in the 400 frame. that would be the ride right there for the people that still want a bed to haul stuff and still trail ride. it would be the last nail in the coffin for the rhino.

James, I have rode yamaha all my life and will get another once they come out with something better than a rzr if they ever do. The rhino was on top for many years but now it is just under powered and out of date. Yamaha does have better quality and I have never said anything diff. But polaris is on top now and there stuff has came a long way in quality in the last ten years Just look at the number of rzrs on this site and sales. I had a rhino for over five years and I broke a lot of shit on it and it never went to a dealer or anywhere else to get worked on other than my barn. And as far as the front end on a rzr I would rather have to change the bushings after every ride than to go back to riding a rhino on the trails. Also what is so bad about the trails at your house. How are they any harder on the rzr than any other trail. From what I have seen they are no diff than the wagon wheel trails. Highway trails to me but I still love to ride them because you can get some speed. And if you think I am easy on my rzr you can ask half the people on this site how I ride. Can't get much harder on one than me.

The bushings are bad on my rzr now but I am going to hold off on chaneing the because I may end up getting an rzr xp

Just think about it a ranger 400frame with the 800in it. That would be bad ass in my book and many others that are not brand bias.

Heres the deal.

All machines have their flaws. If you take care of them they will take care of you.

I used to think Polaris's were junk. I towed more off the mountain than I can count on my hands and toes.
Yes I did buy a RZR. I bought it and hoped for the best. Now after riding it for a year and a half, the quality isnt as bad as I saw. If you look at the facts, Cam Am and Polaris have outsourced their factories to Mexico so if you get a new machine, it may have some burritos in it.
Polaris isnt that bad, it has flaws just like the rest of them and if you take care of it then it will do just fine....just like everything else.
Now is Polaris the best?? NO! If anyone has better builds then its the Yamaha made in Japan. But they have their qwirks as well.
All of these machines are good! Go buy what you want and take care of it. If you take care of it, it will take care of you. Not one is better than the other, they are just designed differently for diff customers and applications.
Currently for what we do, the Polaris is the better fit for fun. Is it the best built machine?? No way! Is the Yamaha? No way! Is the Ham Machine?? No Way!
Eventually they all will fail anyways!
Now lets ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well said T-bone...a lot of us like to jab at the rhino owners just for fun but we all know Yamaha is a quality built machine...I bought a rhino that had not been maintained properly and I paid out the butt to get it right. I have a friend that has an old warrior...it's been beat all to hell from day one and it's still going strong...It's kinda like CHEVY,FORD,DODGE AND TOYOTA...they are all good vehicles but it's just preference.

I do have one question though...WHY ARE RHINO OWNERS SOOOO TOUCHY ABOUT THEIR RHINOS??????? THEY ARE GOOD MACHINES....BE PROUD OF THEM...THEY ARE NO WORSE OR BETTER THAN A RZR OR CAN-AM...JUST DIFFERENT

I cannot reiterate enough though. Polaris IS NOT the golden machine. Believe me I have had problems out of my RZR. Not as bad as I have seen on some other Polaris's but a few. Its part of the hobby. You gotta pay to play and the problems I have had VERY EASILY could of happened to other machines.

Ham machines have their problems and I hear of rhinos with theirs.

This is an equal deal.

All I can say I don't care what anyone else rides and to each their own.I'm glad everyone don't like the same thing and that goes for color too question for rhino owners. 22837 I have spent alot of money on repairs on my RZR and way to much in my opinion but I would rather have more maintenance and drive what I like.Hell I don't care if someone buys one of the China knockoffs of a Rhino or RZR etc it's their money they can spend it any way they want too.I just like the size and the way you sit down in the RZR and not up high and the way it handles but I know if I had a Rhino I would not have had to spend as much money on it as I have had to on my RZR and most of that is because of the dust ingestion problem that the 08's had but I still would not trade it for anything else even if it would smoke my RZR.I did not buy it to drag race it's just for trail riding so let's all get along question for rhino owners. 547456

there is good and bad in all of them !!!!! to each their own!!! i myself like arctic cat prowlers!!!!i have a 2010 550 XT EFI i have put 4000 miles on it in a year!!!! i ride the trails here at the wagon wheel all the time i dont take it easy on it either!!! the only problem i had was a water pump go bad .but no big deal got a new and fixed it my self.im not saying that the prowlers are the best . i would just like to see what other ones would do if you put 4000 miles on them in a year riding like i do !!!!! just to see how they would hold up.but the main thing is and all that really matters is buy and ride what you like !!!!! no matter what anybody eles says about them ...

Wear and tear on any machine no matter what kind it is comes down to how you drive it. Its that simple. If you don't mind spending dollars on it all of the time, then go ahead , drive the piss out of it. But to think that you won't break or wear out something on it while doing so is just foolish. And hard driving doesn't care what kind of machine it is, it will fail at some point. I ride the same trails as anyone else around here or at wagon wheel and the front end has never failed me at all due to the actual ride itself on this rzr and i have one of the first ones ever built. I bought it in sep of 2007. The only mechanical failure i have ever had on it was the front differential. That problem was due to 2 missing bearings in the plastic roller cage. I am due for an engine rebuild because of some dust ingestion when i first got it, but as long as i'm adding oil, its running just fine. And if i were to have expected to have to worry about dust ingestion in the begining, i could have avoided that problem as well. I do my fair share of riding hard when i feel the need but for the most part i take it easy on it. And i can guarantee you that i have just as much fun on my machine as anyone else does on any other machine, regardless of what they drive. And its nice to know that if i really wanted to be the fastest and baddest out there, its as simple as modifications and money, not what type of machine i decide to do it too.
Having went to school to be a mechanic and working for 7 years as one on everything from old 4wheel drive trucks, mercedes benz, and heavyequipment with caterpillar, the life of anything motorized is determined by how you treat it and maintain it.
I did own a china made , 250cc off road buggy though that truly was junk with no availability for decent replacement parts. Thats the only exception that i can think of. I could break just about anything on it i wanted with my bare hands.
