| I got that black box installed on my commander and it def makes a difference! I don't think I like it very much on muddy slick trails, I had so much wheel spin that I had to keep it in 4 wheel drive to keep it from fish tailing off the trail! I will let everyone know how it does on a dry day, going riding tomorrow maybe it won't be as slick. The good thing is if it is slick all I have to do is unplug the box and plug up the stock plug. | |

| ive been building cars for years. unless the factory pcm is detuned, theres no way that a tunning box can make a huge diffrence.
on N/A cars ( naturaly aspirated) all these magic tunners, hypertech etc etc dont make enuff hp diffrence to be felt by the seat of the pants.
the only time a plug in box makes a huge diffrence i on turboed because it ups the boost and makes a REAL hp gain.
now that being said, im currious what paramaters the box actually changes.
obvioulsy timming and the fuel map, but there only so much timming you can add in before it starts hurting power and parts.
why does the canam have so much lag? is it drive by wire? or does it have a normal throttle cable?

| ok so it can speed up the reaction time of the servo, but that is just gona fool ya on thinking its gots more power by reducing the lag.
as far as truly making MORE power, id say its only gona ba a very small gain.

| The main reason it makes a difference is that it disables the shaft saver on the can am, which allows for full power to the ground! | |

so it has a torque management like the GM trucks do. it does make a big diffrence out of the hole, but how long will the shafts and cv's last?? the glass gears in the GM trannys dont last very long. i dont own or have anything in the rzr vs can am arguement, but the reason GM and can am put that on there is the parts wont take the power.

Kenny...that sounds great...you could let some of the air out of the tires to give it more traction....just a thought....
