| When nobody will go riding with you, go by yourself!! New machines And they just keep coming!!! Notice the pipeline right of way on the ridge in the distance.. Two more pipelines on seperate ridges. Future compressor station site.. This used to be a pretty good trail!! Was one of my favorite old mud hole filled county roads!!! This was a pretty good trail last year!! It's amazing just how many trails are being lost to all the drilling and all that natural gas has to go somewhere. So here comes all the pipelines and compressor stations. And they gotta have roads to get to those pipelines and drilling sites. So there goes a ton of trails when they bulldoze their new road in. Those pipelines go for miles and miles so do the roads. Don't get me wrong, I tend to be one of the drill baby drill crowd. But not when they gotta bulldoze my darn trails down. It's just so sad, I gotta laugh!! | |

Actually alot of the jobs are not going to WV workers, especially on the pipelines. Most of the drilling companies are from Oklahoma and Texas and they are bringing a ton of people with them. Most of the pipelines are going union so they are bringing all the welders and their helpers from Local 798, which is based in Tulsa Oklahoma. Just down the road from me they are protesting the lack of local workers being hired. I spoke with at least 25 guys on Sunday and not one was from WV. But hell this WV, we're getting accustomed to being used for our natural resources. It's happend many times before!!

We will definitely have some new hill climbs and I would say alot of new right of ways but some of those mud hole laced trails will take years to come back. Not to mention all the tight woods trails out the ridges.

| The locals really should get a shot at them jobs, our state doesn't care they've got there money. The pipelines should be a good ride in a couple of years | |

Surely ALL the trails can't be gone! I will shoot you a PM next time I'm headed out. I'll like to learn some more of that area past Joetown and you seem to know it. And no all the trails are not going, not even close really. I would say we have lost over a hunderd miles of trails though and thats just the ones I know of. The other thing is how many years are they gonna continue to drill and run new pipelines. I have heard everything from 10 more years of drilling like they are now to 25 more years. Who knows?? It's like the California gold rush over there in places though!!
