This guy has a RZR and does some great videos. He is one of my friends from the Ford Forum and he also is into RZR's. This is one of his many videos he does and it is a great help. I always wondered how to fix this that sprague carrier.

When i did mine it was pretty easy also. The part of the video where he is installing the bearings and h-springs i did a little different. You can actually install them all on the bench and cut a 20oz. plastic coke bottle to fit directly over the sprague carrier and it will hold all bearings and springs in place while you drop the carrier in place, then you just pop the plastic bottle back out with a quick little jerk and its in.

I put over 8,000 miles on my first RZR and never had any problems so not sure why you need to replace it

I guess some break and some don't....dunno. I know mine broke when it really shouldn't have. I've seen where people such as t-bones friend in the video broke for the same reason, hard landing in 4 wheel drive when front wheels hit while on the gas, but mine broke while slowly traveling up out of a mud hole. My front right wheel was up in the air and i gassed it to pull on out. I heard something pop, and that was it. After i opened the case up, i discovered that there were only 18 bearings in the sprague carrier when there should have been 20! And to beat it all there was absolutely no damaged bearing material in the bottom of the case. Only thing i can figure was that it was a mistake upon assembly when it was made.

if in 4x4 and the front wheels come off the ground, if your still under throttle when the front wheels come back down it will break the plastic sprague.

Yeah T-Bone that's what i've always thought too about them being made of plastic to begin with myself. It makes sense for an average trail rider who doesn't ride all out all the time. I've put mine through worse than before since i broke the first one though and it has done just fine. Mine was a case of not having all bearings installed in it from the factory. My second one is plastic also.

Over 8000 miles, I bet it was cracked n u didn't know it. Mine was cracked but it worked fine. I recommend getting the billet carrier but not with new rollers, it's much cheaper that way. Rollers r pretty tuff, unless u have run front diff dry. The bottle is pretty smart, we had lots of free hands so glen billy n I each held a couple rollers in place each. Took less than 20 minutes from open to close front diff.
