| My valve cover is leaking down on my exhaust and it's pretty wet. Anyone change this yet? Do I have to remove the bed to do it? I was thinking of using a little bit of gasket maker or glue with the new O-ring to make it seal a little better. That's alot of heat right there at the exhaust ports for that little O-ring to take for very long. | |

| Are you sure it is not the plastic hose fitting that fits into the cover that is leaking? They get hot and melt. | |

I don't think that's it, but i will double check it. Looks like it's just leaking right above the exhaust flange along the front. The sides and back are dry and clean.

| You can replace the valve cover gasket without removing the bed. | |

| Got it fixed. After trying to get to those bolts, I just went ahead and took the bed off. Even after that, I had to take the pipes off the head and pull them back enough to get to one bolt. I'm glad I took the bed off, there was a ton of mud baked on top of the engine above the valve cover where you cant see. I broke it loose with a screwdriver and took the shop vac to it before I tore it down to keep any dirt from getting in the engine. It wasn't a bad job after I got the bed off. (it was my 1st time) I put a light skim of smurf poop on the valve cover to help hold the seal in place, and help it seal just a little better. It weeped just a little around one bolt for about 10 minutes, then it was good to go. | |

Hmmm. Did you replace the "O" ring gasket ? Glad Smurf poop fixed it, but you might go ahead and plan on a new gasket. Been there, done that.
