| Anyone raise and lower their snow plow with synthetic rope? I was wondering how it holds up. It's alot of money to wear a bad place in it, then have it break in two at the worst time when I really need to get out of a jam.
Also, has anyone ran synthetic rope on a winch in the factory winch mount location for a while and use it alot. I'm concerned about it getting muddy and wet all the time, and dryrotting.
I'm thinking I will mount the winch in the factory location on the rhino to keep my weight down low instead of building a bumper this time and I don't want to pay the extra for the syn rope if it won't last.

| I replaced the cable on my Warn with Viper rope and I love it. I have had it on there for 2 years now with no issues. | |

| I've got the rope as well, had it about a year. I've used a couple of times n do prefer it. The rope is really a lot easier to handle. World class power sports sells it cheaper than any place I've found. Call Amanda n she'll fix u up. I think I payed around $50 for the rope. If u switch from cable be sure to polish the drum, cable can put burrs on the drum. | |

| I guess I should have added that I have not used it but once with my plow. Not much snow here last year. I still have the roller fair-led. I think with roller it will work fine with the plow. | |

| I had a rope on mine since 08. It's been in the mud repeatedly & used a dozen times with no problems. I do pull it all the way off the spool about once a year and clean it off & inspect it. I also pay attention in how I use it too. I do not allow it to pull over (rub) a rock or something when winching too. | |

| I do the same. I bought a 5000 Viper with rope for the Rhino. The Rhino currently has the Yamaha/Warn 3000 with cable. It has a hard time pulling the Rhino out (if I get stuck it's usually buried good) so I upgraded. Merry Christmas to me! | |

| I think I will go ahead with the rope. Unspool and cleaning it after being sunk in a big mudhole won't be that big of a deal. I usually go around the big holes if I can. If it wears in half plowing, I guess I will learn the hard way.
My main concern was dryrot from mud, and having it fail at the worst time.
Thanks for the info guys!

| Hump a bunch of my buds up in PA and Jersey take their rope of during Plow season and replace it with a shorter web type material like seat belt webbing to plow with as they too had issues with rope fraying. This saved their rope and not having to get down in the snow at the worse time and having to retie the rope back to the plow. | |

| I have had a Viper Elite 4500 on the Joker since 09, and as any body that has been rideing with me knows, I just can't seem to pass a creek or mud hole with out jumping right into the middle of it!! My cable has been used a lot and I never clean it. It has been down in the mud, and sunk into the black nastey swamps down here with out a bit of problems. | |

| useing the seat belt on your winch is the best thing I,ve heard ,being in the towing end of things for years I,ll tell you now that the rope won't hold up to winchig the plow and it will wear thourgh from bounceing in no time .But useing the rope as far as winching goes thats the safest thing out there | |
