| I have always rode Rockhouse out of Guilbert the last 10 years. We are going to Ashland Resort Thursday after Christmas for 4 days. Are there places to eat near Ashland Resort or do you have to cook? Any other information we should be aware of? Thanks, Jerry | |

| I would bring food to cook. There used to be a place but went out of business in northfork. Could eat at pinnacle creek but I am not sure if they are open this time of year.
Be sure to chain your machines up. Ashland has had a theft issue lately. Thiefs are stealing the machines while you sleep and roll them down the hill. Make sure they are locked up tight. The Ashland store has a mini grocery store if you forgot anything. They have grills there as well. Ashland is one of the greatest places to stay. So many places to ride to right from the campground. Have fun! |

| Pinnacle Creek is closed, reopen it the spring, you can ride to Bramwell on the Pocahontas trails system go into town and there are 2 good places there to eat also you can ride Pinnacle creek trail system to Pineville and there are several place there, if someone is around to show you how to get to Welch there is a Subway and KFC there or you may know the way, the trails that leads there are outlaws trails. | |

| You got Riders Paradise not to far away from the Stair Steps also Mullins has several places to eat. There are many other places but you would have to know Outlaw trails or ride more black top to get there. | |

| Thanks guys for the replies, I keep hearing about RZR's and ATVs getting stolen there. Sounds a little strange for one campground to have that kind of problem, maybe an inside job? I have mine insured by Kimber Ultra 24 hours a day, with an extra policy rider Black Talon Hollow Points, they aim to please. Three guys all toten and love to shoot, God help the poor sole that provides a reason. I hate a thief. Thanks, Jerry | |

| I wish Ashland Resort would build some sort of nice restaurant there. I'm sure it would do good business. The Coal Camp cafe that was closed last year was kind of hit or miss on the quality of food, plus they had some very odd hours. The lack of eating places and gas in that area is kind of a common complaint from many riders, especially people who are going there for the 1st or 2nd time. You would think by having 3 major trail systems, plus the Outlaw trails in that area, that they would have a few more amenities in the Ashland area. | |

| There is going to be a lot of people riding out of Hilltop between Christmas and New Years. They will be serving breakfast and dinner. Hill Top is just North of the IR trail 94. | |

| Well the good news is that it is great fun to ride in the snow. Ashland has nice quarters and the people are great. The bad news is that it is 20 miles in both directions to get any thing to eat and then the food sucks in both directions. No car washes and no phone service. Guilbert has good places to eat, great car washes and as good places to stay. It is an hour further to drive from North Carolina but you spend more time and millage looking for somewhere to eat at Ashland unless you are prepared to cook your meals. The trails are a little more difficult at RockHouse but that is part of the fun. Both are great ridding, Thank God for WV Trails. We will probably go back to Guilbert most of the time and ride at Ashland for a change. If you have not been to Guilbert and RockHouse Trails, try it. I know there is a big following for the Ashland Area and it is nice but you owe it to yourself to try the other. I like both but prefer RockHouse. Thanks for all the feedback posts. Thanks, Jerry | |

| I have only been to Rock House once and that was in 2003 I stayed in Man & rode into Gilbert and have not been back.I agree Ashland does not have anything close by because you are not in town like you are in Gilbert but Bramwell would give you more of the conveniences like Gilbert if that is what you want.I'm close enough I don't need to go and stay anywhere for a night so I usually just park in Matoaka for day trips and can ride hundreds & hundreds of miles of outlaw trails or ride all 3 H/M systems in the area so it's a no brain er for me not to drive into Ashland which is just another 10 miles further than Ashland so I got no reason to drive all the way into Gilbert to ride. You can ride into Gilbert from Ashland if you know how which eventually H/M will connect those trail system anyway. | |
