front wheel stud replacement

Can anyone tell me if the hub has to come off to replace a front wheel stud? Its looking like the rotor is in the way.

take the brakes off pull the rotor off

doesn't seem very well thought out that you have to remove the caliper and rotor hub assembly to replace a wheel stud. it only lacks an 1/8 of an inch from missing the rotor and pushing past it. I guess such is life.

I just don't remember if I had to remove the hub ormnot, but I don't think that I did. I do remember that the factory stud are a lil bit to durn short for some after market wheels. I never broke a stud, but I sure pulled the threads on several. Satv sells some studs that are a bit longer

If you get it in the right position then it will come out w/o removing anything. That's what I have read in another post. FYI

I have come to the conclusion that I can get the old studs out but I have to remove the rotor in order to get the new one in without damaging the threads
