| Is the trail that runs from the bottom of the stairsteps and dumps you right out by entrance to pinnacle creek campground clear. Basically it runs parallel to wagon wheel road behind riders paradise and wagon wheel atv resort. Last time I was up there a lot of trees had been cut down and the gate by pinnacle creek campground was closed...... It's been a few months so hopefully it's open again. | |

| I think that trail is still like you described. When we went by there, the gate was still closed the other day. If your headed back towards the stair step, you need to go past the gate and then turn right at one of the trails. Go to the top then make a left back towards stair step. Thats the only way for now. |

| Tbone is right, the gate will stay closed to keep people from trying to climb the reclaim hill up toward Rebel Rock. They also had a rope up at the top of the trail leaving the stair steps recently trying to keep people from going down the left side due to the big rock in trail at bottom that's getting huge drop off at little switchback and shortcut close to bottom of steps. Also have rope at bottom below pebble beach that dumps out onto Wagon wheel road where they are refilling big washed out slag hole above WW rd. | |

| Thanks guys. I remember seeing the large rock on the stairsteps bypass last time with the steep drop. I was a little nervous going off it and thought for sure that spot will wreck a few folks. Surprised a side trail hasn't been made around it. Shame the gate is closed. I really liked that trail a lot so I didn't have to ride paved road. | |

I came the way T-Bone was talking about back in October and it was open. Last month I went from the top of the stairs steps down to the pebble beach area with no problems. I hit the rode from there because I was going some place else so I can't say if the rest of the trail is still open or not. | |

| I'm gonna try and check it out tomorrow while I'm there breaking in my ride. I'll know when I go to Jerrys to get a burger sometime this week. Also heard somebody tore up the grassy area above WW Lodging where you go turn to go to the Ghost mine. Unnecessary bullshit causing problem for everybody, they evidently did a lot of donuts tearing up the yards big time. | |

| Jen had pics of the damage done to the grass, looked like a heavy truck with wide tires. She and Matt are just trying to offer a needed service there. It's sad that they have to be done that way. | |

| It's not open all of the way. I was up there last weekend. You need to drop down to the road at the second turnoff on the trail leading to the road. If you go to the end at Pinnacle Creek Campground it is blocked. | |

| Yea it's like Randy said, about 1/4 mile pass the 2nd turn out going down to WW Rd there's a shitload more trees cut down blocking the trail down to Pinnacle Creek campground. | |

| The trail going down the other side was open all the way to the 2nd turn off going to WW RD right below Jerrys. The shortcut from WW RD thru Pebble beach had the rope torn down and somebody had been going over the rocks on the right side and riding up. Also the table area on top of Stairsteps were roped off and had signs saying lots of glass and nails. Rope went from guard rails over to big open area you ride thru going down the side of steps. | |

| Yea it the area where you go off the pavement on the right at the end of the guard rail where it drops down about 20 ft. If you go pass this area you go to Mtn Top cabins or bear to the right going down other side of stair steps. | |

| I did not see the rope up at the top of the stairsteps. It was up several months ago and said something about EPA at that time. | |

| I think it was some locals that put that rope across at the top of S/Steps warning about broken glass and nails. Somebody can ask Ferrell or Chris up at MTN Top about the table area where we used to film and watch everybody jump the guard rail. | |
